mangaemi Posted March 12, 2013 I got an obitsu 45 body a month ago, and now that I'm finally getting the head painted I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to attach the head. Maybe it's so simple I'm just missing it - but the only head attachment tutorials is with the older neck piece. The one I have is round with a spring and a screw on it... if anyone can provide insight I'd be very very very thankful!! I have the neckpiece deconstructed.. but have no clue what to do with it O__O lol ♥ ★ ✮ ~ Amassing an army of Anime Cuties ~ ✮ ★ ♥ The Family: Sheryl, Ranka, Kirika, Arlex2, Yoko, Snow Miku, Haruka, Student Mariko, Prisma Illya, Akira, Maria, Cirno, Noumi, Asuna Titania, Sakuya on the way: want: Sailor Moon, Miki, Yukiho

marisa_doll Posted April 24, 2013 All you have to do is buy a longer screw. Then screw it in! My SQ Hibiki I am putting up for adoption a SQ-Lab Ren head on flickr. Contact me for more details!

Highlander Posted April 25, 2013 How does the hole for the beck mounting on the SQ Labs head compare to a Volks girl? If they are similar (and I think they are) you should be able to mount it without changing the screw. I posted how (actually I borrowed Misheru's account to post since I didn't have the needed number of posts to include images at the time) this works on a DD head with an Obitsu neck piece in this topic; viewtopic.php?f=21&t=6851#p106593 Misheru has an SQ Labs head on either an Obitsu or Volks body - I can't remember off the top of my head which, but I know we did not use a custom neck piece, nor did we mod the head or neck piece. So I'm pretty sure that the SQ Labs heads will work using a standard Obitsu neckpiecw. IIRC, you simply have to remove the 'collar' piece as it's little more than a spacer - if the head you are mounting has a very small neck mounting hole like the DD heads do. Shows mounted DD head on Obitsu body, using current 60cm Obitsu neck piece, and the 'collar' part left out is in the picture next to the assembled head/torso. The reason you leave the 'collar' piece out in the DD head is that otherwise you a) need a much longer screw, and b) the bulky 'collar' actually interferes with the eyes unless they are acrylics that you can take the backs off. Imagine that 'collar' piece inside the head in this picture (below), if the eyes were glass and therefore require a lot more room inside the head. Funnily enough I am facing this problem right now with an Obitsu head. I have 16mm glass eyes that have had to be putty'd into place, but because of the size of the neck piece, the eyes end up being moved if you angle the head very much. I have put an old style Obitsu neck piece in the girl right now, it is less bulky, but After writing this post I realized that I can probably use a washer that is bent to contour with the mounting hole in the Obitsu head instead of their bulky plastic collar. I'll have to find some stainless steel washers later and try that out. I'll even post a picture or two if it works. mangaemi Posted April 25, 2013 well with a Volks body it's no different with a DD head or a SQlab head (well with the exception SQLab heads are resin so the neckpiece hole might need to be widened a little bit). With the obitsu body it's darn near impossible to find people with photos of how they attached the heads... and the only ones that people post are with the older joint - and I'm thinking that one plastic piece that's a part of the obitsu neckjoint is what i was having problems with... (that and I need a longer screw). That photo is suuuuuuuper helpful i'll try to attach the head without that one piece in the neck joint. ♥ ★ ✮ ~ Amassing an army of Anime Cuties ~ ✮ ★ ♥ The Family: Sheryl, Ranka, Kirika, Arlex2, Yoko, Snow Miku, Haruka, Student Mariko, Prisma Illya, Akira, Maria, Cirno, Noumi, Asuna Titania, Sakuya on the way: want: Sailor Moon, Miki, Yukiho

mangaemi Posted April 27, 2013 Maybe the stores in my area don't carry them - but I was only able to find a slightly longer screw.. and it ended up not being completely small enough for me to screw in easily to the other piece with the spring. Does anyone have any tips/tricks to get it screwed in better? I ended up having to use a washer between the head and the spring just so the head wouldn't flop then suddenly rotate to one side. It's helped a little but I'd prefer just a little bit more support so I can pose him better. ♥ ★ ✮ ~ Amassing an army of Anime Cuties ~ ✮ ★ ♥ The Family: Sheryl, Ranka, Kirika, Arlex2, Yoko, Snow Miku, Haruka, Student Mariko, Prisma Illya, Akira, Maria, Cirno, Noumi, Asuna Titania, Sakuya on the way: want: Sailor Moon, Miki, Yukiho

mangaemi Posted April 27, 2013 Yeah I'm thinking I might have to do that XD As of right now his head sits ok so I might just wait it out then see if I want to try to upgrade it later.. lol ♥ ★ ✮ ~ Amassing an army of Anime Cuties ~ ✮ ★ ♥ The Family: Sheryl, Ranka, Kirika, Arlex2, Yoko, Snow Miku, Haruka, Student Mariko, Prisma Illya, Akira, Maria, Cirno, Noumi, Asuna Titania, Sakuya on the way: want: Sailor Moon, Miki, Yukiho
