Info: Volks Official Base Body Page Updates

Volks has recently updated their base body page with new information. Check the following link to see these updates.

A quote from the DDS section:

(6) Exchangeability: starting with the legs, the ease of removing and attaching each body part has been greatly improved. And we have plans to sell many of those parts separately in the future!

I wonder if that means the DDS will be mass released soon ;_;

When I read the thread title I was hoping it was going to be about Volks introducing updates to the BB II to bring it in line with the improvements made on the DDS. Alas, not to be.

 

Hopefully this at least means they'll be releasing the DDS body as a standard item soon.

I'm really hoping for a standard DDS release too. A white skin version would be even better. I've got an original character I want to use a ws DDS body for...

 

I'm betting Volks will announce a DDIII body in 2013, for the DD 10th anniversary, and it'll first be released with Saber, for F/SN's 10th in 2014... This is totally my own speculation, with nothing to back it up, though.

Yes, Volks, make it standard! But not until after August, cos I can't afford it before then @.@ and I couldn't take the temptation! Is it bad I am tempted to grab the DDS measurements, mock up a model body and start on cosplays already?

 

I really like the redesign, it looks really polished.

OMG YAY!

Actually DD3 is on the way. It will be released at the Akihabara Dollfie Dream Dollpa. So it is only a matter of time before that Base Body page gets a total rewrite. What I'm waiting for is MDD2...an MDD with all of the engineering improvements of DDS and DD3.

If *any* base body needs an overhaul/upgrade, it's the MDD. Perhaps it's on the horizon now that the DDS and DD3 are on the way. They were kind of sneaky with the DD3 so maybe they will be on the MDD2.

Yeah, I would love another MDD body but I just cannot buy the old one over again. I was glad to see it go and will wait until there is some improvement. I just feel like if I am paying that much for a body that is supposed to be super at posing that I shouldn't have to alter(aka jimmy-rig) it to give it the original functionality it should already have.

I would definitely get an updated MDD body if they make one... I've been looking covetously at the 40cm obitsu body. My hdd-03 has been hanging out on a 40cm resin body and I've gotten really attached to the proportions. C'mon Volks, let me give you some more money!

 

Also it would be cool to see a real 50cm body - halfway between MDD and DD3. I think the DDS is 50cm without the head, so it's not a significant difference :/
