aiRreyes Posted March 18, 2013 I'm not really sure if I'm in the right thread but to all who have the authority kindly place me to the right thread I'm particular to doll owners who doesn't have any Volks bag, maybe some doesn't have or would want a convenient way to have their girls with them while traveling other than having this long bag. In my case I see that this long Volks bag a bit of a hassle when I'll be traveling since I want my girls nearer to me (a backpack would do). But with backpack, few stores have a backpack type of doll carrier and majority of the doll carriers are doesn't have any white lining unlike Volks have. What do you then or do you have any suggestions? (2-3 dolls in a backpack) How do you keep your girls safe in a backpack? DJStarstryker Posted March 18, 2013 DDs are not as fragile as people act like sometimes. The main things you have to worry about are damaging the faceup and getting stains. You could get a face guard for the face and then get a large, plain white cloth and wrap it around the doll to protect it from stains. The doll should be fine in a backpack like that as long as you aren't putting sharp or heavy things in the backpack too that might crush something. Maybe fill empty space around the wrapped up doll with something so the doll won't go sliding around and make the face guard or white cloth fall off. Are you ready to rock? ^_^

baldylox Posted March 18, 2013 I just recently transported all 3 of my MDD girls in my backpack to a doll meet. The backpack doesn't have a white liner inside so what I did was wrap each girl in a small white towel, making sure to cover their faces. Then I did 2 of the girls at the bottom of the big compartment in the backpack in sitting poses, facing each other with legs going beside each other. Then the last girl was wrapped up in a towel and put in the kneeling position between the other two. The rest of the area was filled with one more light colored towel so they wouldn't move around too much inside the backpack. They rode for 3 hours in the backpack which sat in the back seat of my car with no problems. I then packed them back up the following morning to travel to the meetup spot, again with no issues. As long as you cover their faces with something that's not abrasive and make sure they don't bounce around or shift alot in the carrier, I think you can use just about whatever type carrier you can fit them into. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
Kumi Posted March 18, 2013 I'm using also small suitcase (the cabin bag size) and pack them similar way as Billy. But the face protector is a very handy tool and You definitely should buy it. For example, at Coolcat.
Yukamina Posted March 20, 2013 I've been transporting my DDs in a simple shoulder bag (like, the kind my school bookstore keeps giving me). I wrap them in a white towel or something like that. I'm afraid to put dolls in my backpack for 2 reasons- my backpack might get jostled or bumped into, and large dolls don't fit nicely in there. With a shoulder bag, I can tuck it under my arm and make sure they are safe ^_^ My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt
