What are the odds for VOLKS lottery?

Not sure this has been asked or not but I just got into DD world few months and never had a chance going through a lottery (though I've seen quite a few since last year but never entered one for real). Some said the lottery was very harsh while some said they won the first time they entered though.

So I really wonder what are the odds then? Do you enter the lottery with one account only (as what Volks suggested) and just hope to be the chosen ones or will you dare to try with multiples attempts? What's gonna happen if luck is on your side and you win with more than one accounts? Hopefully get some good tips before I can try for Lucy this weekend on Volks international then

also its not allowed to use multiple accounts. if you get caught doing that. they ban you

The odds can vary dramatically and no one ever really knows how it’s going to go down until after the event. Volks have never produced any figures or statistics for the lotteries.

 

It’s really something that you can’t tell, first of all we never know how many dolls are made available or how the drawing is done, we also have no idea of how many people have entered. It also depends on how popular the dolls are, some dolls have proved unpopular and ended up in the Volks web store, but some dolls, like the recent Aoko and Melty lottery were hugely popular and lottery results across the international community were mostly losses. This could have been due to low stock of dolls, or it could be that the majority of winners were based in Japan and Korea instead of the international community, it could have been something else completely, we just don’t know.

 

At the end of the day, it’s just luck if your name gets drawn. Some people have taken to entering the lottery multiple times by using friends and family to set up multiple accounts, but even this does not guarantee a win. If you do enter and win multiple times, you either pay for all the dolls you win or you don’t. If you don’t pay for a doll, Volks will cancel the order and close that account down, preventing it from being used in the future. Also if Volks finds out you are manipulating multiple accounts, I have heard they will ban all accounts and blacklist you completely.

 

It's your choice whether you think the risk is worth it.

 

In Lucy's case though I think you don't have much to worry about, she isn't the most popular doll and has been going for very close to retail on yahoo japan. Even if you lose, you should be able to get a fair deal on her easily enough.

This very old thread that I haven't updated in a very long time might give you an insight into your odds at winning.

I'm pretty new to the DD world too and I think I might enter the lottery for the first time this weekend. I cannot choose which DD girl I like more so I think I'll try for both. Even if I don't win anything I think it's still a fun idea and you can always try and find the dolls elsewhere, (hopefully at a reasonable price!).
