If you can have only one DD...

Okay, I tried searching for this on the topics but couldn't find it. I hope there isn't anything similar but my question is: If you can only have one Dollfie Dream, who will it be and why? Don't worry, the answers shall be 'kept confidential' so your girls won't see it thereby avoiding needless mayhem in your respective houses.

 

I'll go first. If I can absolutely ONLY have one Dollfie Dream, it would have to be Saber Lily as she is my grail doll and the one that really got me into the hobby. Granted she wasn't my first girl but she was the one that my husband and I absolutely fell in love with. He started supporting my DD hobby when he saw her in person. Yes, he initially questioned the price I got her at (aftermarket), but the moment he saw her, all question of cost flew out the window.

If I could only have one DD, it would have to be Lilly, my DD Yashiro Kasumi. She's old, yellowed, needs a new face up, has lots of staining and is pretty loose in the joints these days, but if I had to be limited to only one, it would be Lilly every time.

 

She's been my companion for so long, even during periods when I had quit the hobby completely and had zero interest in DD stuff. She's always been there and always remained loved.

 

I honestly can't imagine what it would be like to not have her any more, she means so much to me.

If I could only have only one, it would have to be Sasara. She's my unobtainable unicorn. I'd sell off my whole collection if she was the only one I could ever have, just to afford her.

Beatrice to the end. I said it thousands of times, I love all my girls, but Beatrice is Beatrice, and I literally couldn't ever part with her.

If I could have only one, it would be Melty, if I ever got her I just really like her...(sorryai-chan><)

For me the answer is simple: Eimii, my custom DDH-01 by Momo-man, who was also my first DD.

 

Tana, definitely. She was my original idea, and I don't think I'll ever be letting her go anytime soon....

I'd have to be in extremely dire straits to even think of letting Maiko go...... (but I know there'd be plenty

of loving homes here, if the situation ever came up)

Definitely Rise. She's the only doll that I ever *truly* wanted and tried really hard it get. Not only do I love Rise in Persona 4, she's such a gorgeous doll Her face is the perfect balance of anime-style features with somewhat more realistic features.

Feena, she has been with me for over 3 years now, so she's too much a part of my daily life to think otherwise. I'd sooner give up my computer. >_>;

That seems to be the theme here though from most answers: even people with much rarer/sought after DDs seem to value their first the most. Perhaps that nostalgic value of the first girl never wears off?

mine would be Airy (my Chiharu),, i let her go her once, now will try to keep her as long as i can..

If Lily wasn't the girl that had actually tuned me in on DDs, then Mari, who was my first, would be my choice too. This only strengthened when I had my boy Kaylus as I couldn't imagine one without the other. But since I asked about having only one DD, I had to go with Lily as she really should have been my first. Still... I'm glad to see that a lot of us have one girl we truly value above all. Not that they aren't all completely lovable.

Man, with only two that would be a pretty brutal choice, especially as one is my pet project and the other is my unicorn.

 

I suppose it boils down to why I was narrowing it down to one. If it was a money issue, then I have to go with the logic I listed in that "what would it take you to sell" thread: I'd keep Nanoha, as she's much harder to come by at a decent price, and I could re-assemble Agatha later without too much trouble.

 

On the other hand, if it was due to not having time to care for more than one girl, or due to space, then Agatha would be the one to stay. She's quite the ongoing project, and there's always something new I can do with her--more outfits, crazy steampunk props, science misadventure stories, etc. I would never get bored with Agatha; overwhelmed, definitely, but not bored.

This is a cruel question! I can only choose between the dolls I already own (for example, I love DD Aoko, but I don't have one, so how can I know how much I would bond with a doll I don't own?). I also got my girls around the same time and have put similar amount of effort/bonding into them. But I do find I'm a little more attached to Iris, my DD Lucy. Maybe because she was my first, maybe because I had to put more effort into building her image. Or maybe because the image I created for her is more my style than the images I created for my other girls. I don't really know! So I guess if I could only have one DD, it would be Iris...

 

Now if this question was about my resin BJDs, I don't think I could answer at all @_@ My attachments to them are so different (got them at different times, created different styles, put different amounts of effort), I can't really create a heirarchy. And I tend to collect them in inseparable pairs.

Hehehe... I know what you mean, but yes, you can only pick one. It is just a hypothetical question though, I doubt those girls will even let us just leave it at one.

I really can't pick just one, and I know I'm therefore not really answering this question. But I have two favorites, Akira and Mitsuki. They are often together, and they compliment each other well. But they break the "keep the first one" trend. They are my second and third. I favor them both a lot, though, they go out more than my others. Mitsuki is a custom that came out perfect, and Akira probably would have been a unicorn for me had I not just easily won her with one lottery entry. So maybe I can choose them over the others, but I just can't choose between them.

 

 

 

 

No battle, none of my girls stand a chance against Airi. I love everybody in my family but I can never get tired of staring at Airi. She is beautiful, sophisticated and confident, what I think all girls should be.

I couldn't choose one. No way.

 

I *might* could narrow down to 3...but that is as close as I could get.

Out of all the girls I currently have it would have to be Yoko/Suki. She was the first character girl i got and my first experiance of bidding with YJA. I just love her<3

 

From the girls that have escaped my grasps of far I would have to choose Yuki M, goddess!

I hope I will never have to choose only one, but if I had, it would be my Hitomi (Yuki Morikawa). She was my grail and my second doll.

But awww it would be so hard for the others, I really hope it will stay hypothetical for long.
