Nekopon Posted April 5, 2013 I'm not even sure if this question belongs here since the head is not a DD head. I'm interested because I potentially want to get this done... I've seen some threads on DoA but they're not particularly helpful. If anyone has an idea on how to do this, please let me know! Thank you.
Pihlajakoto Posted April 6, 2013 This is completely a guess. I once saw a DD2 body on sale at DoA that had the neckpiece removed and string and hook instead. So you could remove the neckpiece and put a the string with hook in through the hole where the neckpiece bolt goes. My blog Pihlajakoto
Kumi Posted April 6, 2013 You need a plastic bottle cap and a drill. The drill is used to make a hole in the cap, with a diameter according to the DD neck peg diameter - tight fit, as You probably guessed by now. Then You put the head on the peg and secure it with the cap.
DivinitaAria Posted April 6, 2013 I'm interested in finding out as well. I was never able to enjoy my SD Rose because her body was so heavy and so hard to pose, but I just stuck her head on a DD body to see how it looks and despite the color difference, it's perfect! Rise - Rise // Rise #2 - Rise // Ritsuko - 2B // Momo - M.O.M.O. // Nayuki -Mikuru // Romi - 09 // Makoto - Sailor Jupiter // Mikasa - DD07 (WIP) Waiting on: DDH-25 for custom Akechi 🥰

Poofiemus Posted April 7, 2013 There was a video floating around for a while instructing how to attach a resin head to a DDII body, and I expect the DDIII would use something similar. It involved looping a bit of elastic under the outer torso vinyl so it attached to the inner armature, then got pulled through the neck. That's where you'd put an S hook, and tada, you have a place to put a resin head on a DD. (Sadly I can't find the link to the video anymore; hopefully the description is helpful?) In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
Nekopon Posted April 7, 2013 Thanks everyone for their help! I'll definitely try the plastic bottle cap trick. I've also heard of the elastic band one before through the armature but I think the bottle cap one will be easier to try to execute first. If that doesn't work out, I'll try the elastic method! Thanks!
Arkinlae Posted June 23, 2015 Currently doing the bottle cap trick with a resin head (I might have to make a custom neck piece as the bottle cap moves her eye position out of place a little and she ends up with derp eyes). Someone did point out to me though that the resin head might be to heavy and after a while the weight could get to much for the neck. Would it be worth buying one of the metal Cool Cat repair pieces in this case? Would it take the weight better?
