Saber @ Sakura Con 2013

About a week ago, I went to Sakura Con with some friends of mine. (One of which I claim is "responsible" for starting my anime hobby) we had a great time and I managed to get some good pictures of Saber during the moments we were wandering around Seattle.

 

About an hour before we arrived we stopped in the desert to gas up. Saber-chan, who didn't realize we weren't there yet decided to complain that Seattle looked nothing like the pictures I had shown her.....

 

She forced me to make it up to her by buying her donuts. (we found a Japanese grocery store in redmond that happened to sell eraser food!)

 

The next morning was spent browsing King County for a good sushi place to eat. Due to it involving food I left the details to Saber-chan.

 

Originally, Saber wanted me to get a picture of her in front of the Starbucks booth but just as I took the picture she realized a McDonalds was right behind me.

 

Funny Story, I stood Saber out in front of me while my friends and I rested for a bit. a passerby thought it was some sort of street act and gave her a dollar! I tried to explain that I didn't actually need the money but he said "The poor girl looks hungry, buy her some food."

 

So the next Day that was exactly what I did.....

 

That Pocky lasted all of about a minute.

 

Extra:

 

At EMP in Seattle they had a gallery up on horror movies and Saber managed to locate Simon Pegg's shirt from Shaun of the Dead (one of her favorite movies.)

Saber: "You got red on you...."

 

And Finally, after returning home, Saber couldn't wait to tell Ericka all about the trip. those two are so sweet together sometimes.

Thanks Mitsuki! I had heard before that taking a DD to a Con was a big attention grabber. I was kinda nervous, (first time with a doll in public. mainly worried about being judged.) Turns out nearly everybody loved her. all she got were compliments. I wonder if volks designed the Saber mold to look hungry? what with all the running jokes about being a voracious eater and everything. hahaha. it works to her benefit though.

Hahah, Yeah, he was a nice guy. Saber is definately a eating machine. I just love her to pieces!

I had the best time in ages. This hobby (and the otaku subculture as a whole) has allowed me to meet so many great people. It was kinda like living the dream I guess.

Thanks! I absolutely love that set. I just can't seem to get saber to wear it enough.

I found the jeans on ebay, pretty inexpensive, and the seller has a ton of them.

Tamayuki has been pestering me for over a year to make him a Hunny cosplay from Ouran High School Host Club. I would have to make him a plushie cake and BunBun. He would love all the attention he would get and going on a trip would be a huge bonus!

Oh! that's right! I thought I saw somewhere that you are in WA state. Yeah. It's so much fun. Dollfies are like catnip to con goers. People would go absolutely nuts over Tamayuki! I plan to go next year with my Asuka. Thanks for the comments!

Went looking through some of the pics of Hunny's outfits with Tama and asked him if he was ok with so many pink boy clothes. I pointed out that even Hunny's suit of armor is lavender and that the "Sister Hunny" dress is a monstrous pink thing. Tama doesn't even seem phased. He just wants the whole wardrobe. I'll just stick with the Ouran basic uniform for now.
