Melty and Lyar intro photoshoots

Spent the afternoon doing a introduction photoshoot with my latest ladies for my blog, and thaught id share them here.

 

Melty's already known as an addition for my gang, but the latest arrival, Lyar, a DDH05 prepainted head came together just the past few weeks.

 

Hope you like the shots, eventhough my camera seems to like to troll me with the preview screen, and instead of the used to actual under exposure, I got over exposure based on what I saw.

And with Melty covered, on to the new girl, which is a combination of a few marketplace purchases, namely a DDH05 head from misskale, and a body and wig from maarit, that came together to form Lyar:

I've always been fascinated by Sirius for some unexplained reason, call it an aura of potential if you wish.

However the standard Sirius is a bit basic considering its faceup, and the same head based Kyoko and Yumi models on the other hand are a tad too much.

 

However the pre-faceup head seems just right.

Lyar isnt really an original character, but more or less a first step in something I've wanted to put together, and thats a doll of Lyar Von Ertiana out of divergence eve.

 

However, while the 05 head is closest to the target with its smaller eyeholes, the expression is a tad too soft for the character:

I seem to have gathered a few pearl silver wigs into my collection, and thus the "Silver haired old spinsters club" had a group photo:

Ah, well the spinster bit is a bit of a stab at the anime character I had in mind, who has a bit of a angst going on about not being married yet. (even more hilariously so in the audio drama preview for the series).

I did talk about this already on the blog side of things, but...

 

Its interesting considering Meltys head, since for me it felt like they just put the pointy ears on miki's head, and did a more tony-ish faceup. But I guess this is a "similarities are in the eye of the beholder" thing.

 

And as for the body, I have very little to add that hasnt already been said. It has its limitation of not being able to arch the back (without causing deformation atleast) as with a separate torso, but its very rare that you will want a pose like that.

 

For melty using it was still overkill -- I would have understood it better if melty was an S-bust, to bring the whole size selection available for the unitorso, but if you have a character that has to show its belly, there isnt a better alternative for that I guess.

 

Actually considering this angle, with Melty after the first non-character outfit photos of her were shown on the volks blog I thaught she'd make a pretty good base for Merry Nightmare (Pointy ears and all!).

Although melty is properly cute in her default gear, I did do this shoot and get it dobleepented, so I can try other setups for her... (thankfully she seems to be a jane of all applications in that sense...)

Your two new girls are so lovely! Did you add the patch/insignia to the Kimi ga Nozomu Eien 君が望む永遠 uniform? It looks so cool like that!

hmm... if Im not mistaken, all of the Volks made Rumbling hearts/Kiminozo winter uniforms from 2004 (Found the bag, it be 2005 actually.) should have the embroydered Hakuryo school insignia on the shoulder, as in the original artwork.

 

I think Cotin-doll featured one version that does not have the shoulder patch. (Atleast in their wig sales photos).

mmmm, I have the summer one also. Although I've always found the two outfits pequliar, eventhough they are similar, their still so different from a design stand point. (then again I think the winter outfit was a bit of a afterthought, for Muvluv, and Akane Maniax)

 

Personally I wish Volks would dip back into the Age-soft licences for the ladies UN uniform that was in Muv-Luv alternative: Total Eclipse, thats based on the winter seifuku... probably wouldnt mind a Yui Takamura doll either, but thats another thing.

I agree! Muv-Luv alternative: Total Eclipse is more recent too so it wouldn't be like they would be digging up things that didn't have a modern connection. I wish they would make Yui too.
