Hello! I was wondering a few questions to all of you in the USA, who have ordered from VOLKS USA. If you wouldn't mind answering, I would really like to know :3

 

1. Did you ever run into any problems when ordering from VOLKS USA?

 

2. How long did it take for your items to get to you?

 

3. Do you know if VOLKS USA takes Paypal?

 

4. How much was your shipping? -Just an estimate, if you don't want to tell the amount ^^-

No, not really. The process was straight forward enough!

2. How long did it take for your items to get to you?

Approximately one week.

 

3. Do you know if VOLKS USA takes Paypal?

I don't believe so. Credit cards only?

I run group orders but I've had individual order start at $12 and group orders as high as $50.

Ehhh issues with bringing up possible damage/defects with them can be difficult (as it's hard for them to acknowledge if theres a problem), but for the most part they are nice and respond generally with in a day or two of emailing them.

 

2. How long did it take for your items to get to you?

UPS from California to the east coast takes a good 4-5 business days (and they take about a day to ship).. which is laughable considering USPS can get to California within a day or two..

 

3. Do you know if VOLKS USA takes Paypal?

Nope CC and CC backed Bank-debit cards only

 

4. How much was your shipping? -Just an estimate, if you don't want to tell the amount ^^-

Shipping is weird - like it seems like it's based on dollar amount vs weight? Usually if I order really small items (4-5) and they are light the shipping is still 15-17$. If you're curious about a real estimate - try going on the website and adding heavy items to your cart and it might give you a general guess as to the UPS shipping total.

They will overcharge you for shipping. No matter how small you buy, so be prepared for that.

No. The only thing is when you think something is in stock so you add it to your cart only to find it's not available

From California to the east coast via UPS + processing time is ~5 days.

 

3. Do you know if VOLKS USA takes Paypal?

I don't think they do.

Is way too much an acceptable answer? Even if you want like...a paint brush your shipping starts at ~$13.50. Pllleaasseee fix this, Volks!!!!!! That's ridiculous! (I put a zipper in my shopping cart and did a mock order and got $13.50 for shipping)..

 

So if you want small items, then it might be more worth it to join a GO or else you'll have to pay an irritatingly large amount for shipping small things.

Keep in mind that shipping also depends on where you are. I lived in Hawaii before moving to Japan. Volks charged $30 as a minimum to ship ANYTHING to Hawaii. This could even be something super small that you could throw in an envelope, like a head cap.

 

Part of the reason their cost is so high is they won't use USPS First Class or Priority Mail. They only use UPS or USPS Express Mail (EMS). But part of it too is that they simply overcharge. Even UPS wouldn't be anywhere that high for something that small and light.

No reportable problems encountered, after making quite a few orders over time. Any small snafus that did come up from time to time due to one-off weird cirbleepstances were resolved by the USA shop ladies quite courteously and expeditiously. VolksUSA has nice customer service in my experience.

 

2. How long did it take for your items to get to you?

Considering that VolksUSA only uses Express Mail or UPS, items arrive quickly.

 

3. Do you know if VOLKS USA takes Paypal?

They don't. Major credit cards only, or cash too if you go to their store in LA.

Shipping cost is the one area where VolksUSA will make you have a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day.

 

They require Express Mail (ungodly expensive) or UPS (still pretty awful), so you completely don't get cheap options like USPS First Class or USPS Priority. VolksUSA refuses flat out. Why, I can't fathom. It's not like they use free express-mail boxes that can only go express. So, you're looking at $12 and up even for a single pair of eyes no matter how close you live to LA.

 

VolksUSA charges you 1) the base price for postage, same as you calculate yourself on usps.com, plus 2) a "handling" fee of $5-$10 and sometimes more depending on how much you order. Those are not called out separately on your bill, so it looks like you're paying one huge fat shipping charge. Which essentially you are.

 

You can get discriminated against based on your geography. Priority/First Class to Hawaii doesn't cost any more than sending to the east coast, but Express Mail sure does. (it's because it has an arrival time guarantee). When I lived in Hawaii, because VolksUSA insists on Express and on adding a huge handling markup, even one pair of eyes would cost $32 for shipping.

 

There were times when I gave up entirely on a USA click war event because I had 4 outfits I wanted in my basket (yay success!), then two or three of them were robbed from me before final checkout (boo). Didn't matter how much I liked the one that was left. I just canned the order entirely rather than fork out $32 shipping for only one very light item.

 

You can tell what I think of that company policy.

 

Even though I can't order from VolksUSA in particular any more because of where I live nowadays, I still feel pretty strongly that they ought to offer First Class for items less than 13oz and Priority Mail on anything as options.

I ordered a DDdy body and didn't run into any problems.

Took about a week, pretty quick.

Only cards i believe, I used my debit card.

1. When you put multiple items in your cart and one happens to be out of stock, the notice that they show can be easy to miss. You might end up thinking you bought something, only to realized it wasn't shipped. Just look at your order carefully before paying for it.

 

2. It took about a week.

 

3. I think they take only credit cards.

 

4. My package was 7 pounds and they charged me $23.5 for it. It had a stand and most of the parts for a DD girl. It was shipped cross country from CA to PA. It was a little bit overcharged but not that bad.

2. I ordered on Saturday, the item shipped on Monday the 24th. Approximate arrival is Friday the 28th.

 

3. No Paypal, I had to use my debit card

 

4. I ordered just the full body suit, and my shipping was $13.

I wish I could figure out how they calculate shipping. I am in Washington state, so that is probably UPS Zone 2 or 3 from Volks (not very far away). But UPS shipping of four pairs of acrylic eyes was $13.74! They were packed in a box and not a padded envelope, but still! Seemed really expensive to me.

2. I ordered on Saturday and they shipped on Monday. I should be getting her tomorrow. So 2 days.
