DDS loose elbow joint and floppy MDD feet.

Recommended Posts

Hello there, I wanted some suggestions from you

1) What should I do to solve my DDS arms problem? It is Marisa's old DDS.

It is really disappointing when the body is fully dressed, and the forearm part keeps falling down (the arm part is fixed in the shoulders, so that0s not my problem, thankfully!!).

2) I have some problems with my floppy MDD feet. Any suggestions? I am scared of the hard plastic "tube" inside the ball joint (where the screws is inserted) is broken, but I'd prefer to avoid to disassemble it all >< *solved*

3) How can I re-assemble the DD2 skeleton thigh part inside the hole of the hip joint? I mean, I'm used to turn randomly the stick inside the vinyl thigh part until I'm lucky unuff to center the hole, but last time I spent something like 1 hour in vacuum! T_T

Thanks >____<

For your MDD ankle problem, I wrote an entire tutorial about it: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=5276

I'm not sure what you're asking for the 3rd question, and I've yet to have elbow problems for DDS, though the simple answer would be just to buy new arms.

Ok, I can definitely help with the first one.

When I got Lisette her arm was doing the same thing. What I found out was that her arm was sitting too high inside the vinyl. Take her arm off the torso, hold the lower arm and push the armature down lightly so it goes farther in the elbow socket. It should still be able to reattach to the shoulder.

Yep I saw that thanks! My problem occurs because I think that the "tube" is broken like this:

https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201110904243648&set=a.10200127759825652.189789.1500313925&type=1&theater&refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fphoto.php&soft=side-area&__user=1500313925#!/photo.php?fbid=10201110904163646&id=1500313925&set=a.10200127759825652.189789.1500313925&__user=1500313925

The problem I havr with the DD2 is that I can't re-asdemble the left skeleton part like this:

https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201110904243648&set=a.10200127759825652.189789.1500313925&type=1&theater&refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fphoto.php&soft=side-area&__user=1500313925#!/photo.php?fbid=10201110904243648&set=a.10200127759825652.189789.1500313925&type=1&theater&refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fphoto.php&__user=1500313925

But if I do that it happens like this...?

The fix works regardless of whether that tube is broken or not. Most of my MDD ankles were broken exactly the way yours is. Just put the tube back in and the screw through it. It will all hold.

I also have the same problem with my DDS arms. Mariko, Biscotti, and others.

Would love to see creative solutions for dropping elbows.

I heard of someone using a very little piece of eye putty inside...

If you haven't already reassembled your thigh part this is how i do it:

1: Squeeze the thigh at the top so that you're holding the skeleton part

2: With your other hand holding the knee skeleton part, circle around the socket to get a feel where the hole is, ease your way back to the to the ends and try to slot it in
