Volks Dolls Party 29 After Event - May 18th, 2013

I'm not participating this go around, but this is WAY too perfect not to emphasize. Think this needs to be our standard motto at every Dolpa.

Wow! I can't even get onto Volks' website. Good thing I decided not to get anything this time around. I'm going to wait and see if/what Volks USA gets from this event. Good luck to everyone trying to get items!

managed to get a hoodie set!

Managed to get a Ballon dress set and a Polka dot dress set ... Yeah first time that i joint a click war... And wow more than half an hour to proceed it all! O___O

Yay successful outfit run. Managed to get all four items on my list.

 

This was the first time I participated in click wars on Volks International, and boy was it frustrating. There is one outfit (Polka Dot Dress set) I picked up that I would have traded for a Pink Balloon Dress set, but since that one wasn't my first or even second priority, I knew I wouldn't get it. Overall, I'm happy. I haven't gotten to buy any limited Volks outfits since last year, so any is better that none I suppose.

I've actually been out all evening, so I'm glad I wasn't after any outfits, just the lottery for me. I DID have the same issues mentioned above getting on the site once 8 o'clock hit.

Got everything I wanted and some extras for those who missed what they wanted.

 

Struck out items are the ones I am keeping, everything else on the list are up for grabs. Prices are as they are +$10 for each item.

 

If I don't get takers for some of the outfits within 3-4 hours, I will be releasing them back onto the Volks site.

Aw, sadly the only ones I wanted (and sold out pretty quickly) were the jacket with tartan hood set and the cardigan with white bunny set. Guess I'll try to hunt on Mandarake or Y!J

But this is nice of you to offer the sets to others at a reasonable price.

I sincerely regret not registering for a Volks International account before today. I didn't realize the site would be running this slowly even an hour after the event started.

 

This is going to take forever, why didn't I have the foresight to do this earlier!? :C

Gah, hate the stupid Volks site. I keep getting logged out and it wipes the shopping cart, at least with Chrome browser. Firefox seems to work a bit better. I may just wait for the US release since the set I want isn't very popular.

Well, I decided to tempt fate and enter the lottery for Asuna anyway. If I do win, I'll just have to try to hide the evidence (and credit card bill!) from the husband.

3 number draws for me and SakuraSylph (we had a guy from work come just to draw a number). Not high enough to get any DDs. Argh. Failed at the Dolpa itself, now failed at the in person after event. If anyone thinks us living in Japan makes it so we have higher chances to win a doll, no. That's not true at all. We have never won a doll so far while in Japan. Not at the Dolpas, not at the in person after events, not with the Japanese web lottery. It seems harder here due to more competition.

 

The clothes though are very easy to get, oddly.

maybe you are doing something wrong. i mean i see people on yja get multiples. always same name pops up like esmile gnmahou etc...

Because the obvious scalpers bring groups of like 10 people or more to help them. We had 3 today and at the Dolpa we had like 6 or 7 draws thanks to other people. No dice for any of it.

 

Problem is you have to be super lucky. At the actual Dolpa, you have to draw preferably 400 or less in the numbers. There's over 6000 numbers that can be drawn.

 

At the after event, for our store, you generally can get a doll if you draw 50 or less, and only maybe 200 people show up. We just are unlucky at Dolpa After Events. We tend to draw high numbers at the store events when there's no dolls, just clothes (like for the x month collection events).

Next time gonna try to wrangle more people into helping if possible. Volks shall not win forever.

guy from this blog is very lucky. He constantly pulls numbers less than 200

for example at the last Dollpa29 he was #168

Entered Lottery for Asuna. I don't think she's very pretty at all, not like MOMO but maybe I'll win. I won Sakura last time but she must have been way less popular. Who knows. I never really liked the anime she's from. Wish they'd do Rikka from Chu-2 or Kobato Hasegawa or Iori from idolmaster.

 

Got the only dress set I wanted, im@s Alice set. Thing is, I feel a little retarded because I could have had it on Ebay 2 weeks ago for what seems to be the same total price - and the Ebay seller I've used usually has her items sneak in past customs without issues. No duties on my DD-H07 with Volks makeup. I always pay customs duties with Volks deliveries though. Our customs are incredibly strict, not like US customs.

 

Volks site was crawling and I had to do PayPal checkout twice. But once you're logged in and your item(s) are/is in the shopping cart, you do have some time to do refreshes and resubmissions. The inside frame of the checkout pages also loads with delays so it looks like you have to hit refresh but if you wait a minute or two the address and payment confirmation buttons appear.

Got 4 dresses and entered for Alice.
