Miss Apples Posted May 7, 2013 Hi to those that take the time to read this!! I go by Apples a lot because I just really like apples? They're not my fave fruit but there's something about them. Lol Let's see. I'm an 'older' collector. I guess. I'm just 31 but I keep running into so many teen collectors that make me feel old... Right. So... Mainly I have resin dolls but I do have an older classic Dollfie Dream that I'm trying to restore. She needs so much work so I decided to join this forum to get all the information I'll need to repair her. I bought her from someone who bought her from someone who had her painted white by Paul Kaiju? Something like that. He used the paint that bonds with vinyl. I've discovered that non-acetone nail polish remover takes the paint off but I still have a lot of paint in crevices that I need to get off. Anyway! I plan to get a more up to date DD once I can afford one.

Miss Apples Posted May 7, 2013 Nice to meet you too! Heh I like this place. Seems pretty friendly! I can't wait until I have more to contribute. Oh yeah. She's a lot of work. Since it's darn near impossible to get replacement parts, I'm going to have to try to fix her as best I can. Like her broken ankle. It's not -broken- broken.. It's just the little plastic nub/ball that connects the two parts of the ankle together... that little piece is bent to the side. The two halves don't meet right. I'm hoping with some 'hot' encouragement I can fix the ankle. And I pray the newer busts/hands will fit. Anyway! Rambling.. I'll stop now. Though I think I'll dig out my camera and keep a sort of photo journal of restoring her. :"D
Harleyquinne Posted May 22, 2013 Hello! Nice to meet you! I'm an older collector myself (I turn the big 34 tomorrow!) I've always loved dolls though and now that I have a daughter, we've been building our collection. She's three, so her big interest is Lalaloopy, but I figure if I have a dollfie dream that once she's old enough I'll get her a dollfie dream, too. I think they are way better looking than American Girl. Anyway - welcome to the forum. I look forward to seeing your restoration journal
