Do all new DD body types have cracking issues?

Hello. I'm new to dollfie dream and I'm REALLY wanting to get a DDlll, DDdylll, etc.(I'm still trying to decide. lol)

When I went to the Volks shop in Akihabara last year I just completely fell in love with DD and wanted one ever since!!...But I have heard there are issues with cracking on the new DDlll bodies and it's scaring me, so I was wondering does this apply to all new DD bodies like the new DDdy bodies, DDS, and so forth? And also has Volks fixed this problem yet? So far I've only seen people talking about DDlll bodies cracking but haven't been able to find info if this also applies to the DDdy body or DDS body.

I just want to be sure before I buy one because I don't want to spend my money on a doll I can't play with.

 

And yes I already saw the thread about cracking on DDlll, but nobody was talking about the other DD models and I seriously need some info on all DD types before I buy one!

DDS, DDIII and DDdyIII all share the same internal frame, so yes, they all do have the 'issue'. And no, Volks never completely fixed it, and that's why Coolcat did it for us. $8 for a complete fix isn't so bad.

Oh dang it that makes me a bit worried.

So do the parts Coolcat sells completely prevent the cracking on all DD bodies?

Or is it just a matter of time until they break regardless if you buy extra protection?

I'm so confused about if I should buy one or not now that I know they all are vulnerable to cracking.

I don't see how they could crack with the Coolcat reinforcements. I think you'd really have to abuse the body for it to happen -- and with that kind of abuse I doubt the DDII would fare much better.

Oh thank you!! Now that I know the reinforcement stops the cracking I'm very happy!!!!

I just got a bit worried as to how fragile the dolls were cause some people were saying they would be just posing their DDlll and the joints would crack, but I'm not worried now!

I'm gonna go ahead and save up for my new doll then!

Btw I'm assuming it's best to order the reinforcement parts before or right as you order your doll, right?

That way the day your doll arrives you can add the extra protection so your doll will be safe from the start I'm guessing.

Pretty much. That way you can also order some of the other nice items Coolcat has for sale! (Such as stands, socks, and some of the best underwear around. ^^)

While it's true that they never completely fixed the cracking issue, they did revise the shoulder and leg sockets of the DDIII and DDS bodies so they don't crack quite as easily.

 

When you order the coolcat parts, make sure you order the right size, or order extras. For example, I recently ordered some and it turned out that my Yukino DDIII body has the older size leg sockets and the newer size shoulder sockets.

Not all of the new bodies break, my Sakuya and Melty both have the new type volks bodies. I have, posed, played and dropped both of them. I even remove their arms completely to make some clothes easier to put on. Even with all of that, I have no leg or arm cracks at all.

 

But even so, the cool cat parts are cheap, so of you really are that worried, just buy some.

depends how badly it cracked, much can be fixed - epoxy-glue it back together!
