hihihellokitty Posted May 29, 2013 Hmm don't know what to suggest regarding the secret doll o_< ...what doll is it if I may ask ? As for the photos, I chatted briefly with you about if before I think, but when I started out I posted my pics even though they were super crummy quality just cause it's fun to share, even if it's not amazing photo quality at first ^^ I suggest using Ribbet to edit your photo overexposure. It's quick and easy...I use it a lot for a simple fixes, and you can even add little effects if you want !

Keijogirl Posted June 2, 2013 Hiding the doll from your dad sounds really troublesome, why not just tell him it was a steal and you'll try not to get carried away next time xD If that wouldn't work, I would definitely say hiding in plain sight would be easiest. Try taking turns having her out vs one of your other dolls that you're not paying much attention to atm. That way it doesn't look like there's an extra doll around, lol. I would think that you should just set aside some time to do it the way that you want to. Put the puppy in a room or outside for a little bit and take some time to set up and get the photos you want. Rushed, stressed, or pressed for time rarely gives the results that you want nor does it allow for much of the necessary attention to detail. A suitable background doesn't always have to be elaborate. You can take a big tri-fold foam poster board (the kind used at a science fair) and drape some fabric or a sheet over it for a decent background. That's what I did here: (Please ignore my doll's crazy hair xD) (I took this photo before I completely understood what I am about to share with you further down OTL) And Here: ( TV Trays, 2 Lamps, and Poster board.) As for the camera settings, I would say to make sure your ISO setting isn't too high. The higher it gets the noisier your photos a lot of times, but the lower it gets the more light is needed. ISOs > 800 = faster and don't need a lot of light for an exposure thus easier to overexpose when there's a lot of light around if you don't use a fast enough shutter speed. Noisier shots the higher you go too. For some 800 might be the max and super grainy. In the picture above my camera got noisy after 400 thus the noise that can be seen >.< ISOs <800= slower and need more light, thus are harder to over expose, but easier to blur as the shutter needs to be open longer to properly expose. Pictures will come out too dark if your shutter speed is too fast and if your subject or camera moves while it's open it'll get blurred. Your pictures come out a lot softer when properly exposed, but they're on occasion harder to take. If you must take pictures inside, I suggest using lamps as most standard indoor lighting won't cut it for the exposure you'd probably need to take a decent photo without flash. If you still need flash I suggest folding a thick paper towel once or twice and taping it over your flash so you don't get that "this picture was taken with flash" look. If all that's a bit much to worry about, I'd just say switch to night mode and maybe use a lamp or so or get a cheap tripod andd maybe do the paper towel thing.
