Konnichiwa! Introducing myself

Hello everyone,

I'm new here on the forums. Some of you may recognize me from MyFigureCollection.

I've been checking this forum for a few months now and my interest in Dollfie Dream dolls started end 2012.

I started off as an otaku, collecting anime merchandise and figures mostly. At some point I started getting interest in anime dolls. Right now my interest in dolls is higher then in figures.

I don't own a Dollfie Dream yet, but I already have some 1/6 Azone PureNeemo dolls in my collection.

Other then being otaku and collecting dolls, my other hobbies are gaming, photographing and filming.

 

I'm planning to make a custom Dollfie Dream as my first DD. Because of that, I basically took a small break from figure collecting, trying to save up money for a DD. Unfortunately I already missed out on buying my first DD, a few months ago I could've gotten a used DD Yukino with missing wig for half the price, kind of stupid and sad that I didn't got it, I wasn't sure about the price at the time. Right now I'm checking forums and shops daily, hoping to find my first good DD deal. I'm starting off small and expanding from there on.

 

 

I have some quick questions too about the forums.

When can we see the Marketplace? When am I allowed to post links? Is BBcode working already?

I'm wondering; How did you get in Dollfie Dreams? Basically for me DD's are the next step/upgrade from Azone 1/6 dolls. Dollfie Dream dolls are just so cute, realistic and amazing!

Yeah, I believe it's 20 posts to get access to new features, not sure about the marketplace though.

Hello! Nice to meet you. I'm new here as well, and I'm currently saving up for my first Dollfie. I entered the lottery for Asuna however I did not win. But I think I'll try and make my own custom Asuna.

Actually, I owned resin BJDs before I got into even figures! By then my interest in dolls had subdued. Azones were what rekindled that fire. ^^ I've had my Airy for over a year now, but feel more comfortable photographing my Azone cuties. They click with me a little bit more, but there are so many things you can do with DDs.

 

What sort of DD do you want to make?

Ok, I see. Azones totally got me into dolls, after that DD. I love 1/6 Azone dolls. When I started looking into 1/3 Azone dolls, I found that DD's look so much better and nicer. You have Airy, nice!

I can say there's a difference for me in Azones and DD's too. Azone is cuter in a different way, DD is more realistic. I can't really say yet which one I like more, both are amazing kinds of dolls.

 

I can't wait to get my first DD, hopefully I will find it soon. I'm probably going to make Kasumi from Dead Or Alive or maybe a K-On! character (except Yui & Mio since they already exist) or maybe a Tekken character, but those aren't really anime characters.

Oh - a Kasumi would be so awesome! I hope you are able to make it happen.

Hi & welcome to the forum. I'm also a MFC participant (FgrClctn). I gravitated to resin & then DD from that influence. I think you'll find a lot of folks here have crossover interests. I do still buy figures, but the Dollfies are taking up more & more of my attention & money...they're kind of like kids, but at least they don't grow out of clothes & shoes!

Yeah, Azone dolls are so cute, in my opinion they have a different cute factor compared to DD's. I really like their fashion too, but the heads and wigs they have are amazing too, customizing them is a lot harder though, except for clothes.

 

Indeed there are a lot of ways to make a custom Kasumi. The head is probably the most important. I was thinking of using DDH-03, with the original Yukino head or my own custom face-up. Which DDH head would you recommend for Kasumi?? I'm planning to make the clothes myself.

Yeah, there are a lot of people who have different interests, but actually collecting dolls is different side too of some otaku's. Like I said, I started with Azones and now I'm into DD's. DD's are taking up my attention too at the moment and I'm trying to save money instead of buying lots of figures everytime.

Yeah, dolls may be like kids, but luckily they take less care, there's still the reason that many DD collectors call their dolls 'daughters'.
