Dollfie Dream III base body

But is Moe III or DDS??

Moe v1 is DDII, Moe v2 is DDIII. (However, the DDIII is derived from the DDS frame, hence the similar elbows.)

Yes, the renewal models of Yukino and Aoi are on the DDIII body.

There is information on the Volks USA Blog about the renewal versions of Aoi and Yukino:

"DD Image Characters Aoi and Yukino will be receiving an upgrade to the DDIII body and new makeup soon, and the DDII versions will not be restocked once they sell out!"

Also some information about the busts not being 100% interchangeable between DDII and DDIII:

"Dollfie Dream III (Limited Edition only so far) can use DDII optional bust parts (Normal Skin: Small / Medium / Large, White Skin: Small / Medium / Large), but the fit will not be 100% perfect. While the DDIII body is extremely similar to the DDII body in proportion, the curvature of the lower edge of the DDIII bust part slightly differs from that of the DDII."

Yeah, the busts don't fit perfectly on the DDIII body but the new design makes changing the busts SO much easier.

I used to make hubby work at the bust changing and he hated it because it was such a pain (even with a blow dryer to help soften the vinyl). With the DDIII body it's literally 1-2-3. 1) remove head, 2) remove arms 3) remove bust & put on new one. When I showed him with Yukino v.2 hubby was like "omg that's it??!"

Oh man, that's great news!

I have some outfits that only fit one bust size or the other, and changing bust just to swap clothes was driving me bonkers. Looking forward to dd3 even more now

I can take some tomorrow if you want. What shots are you looking for specifically? I have the Large (shapely) bust on one of my DDIII bodies right now. I can easily change it to the regular L-bust if you prefer.

All of the exisiting bust pieces can interchange very easily with the DD3 body (easier than putting on a DD2 actually since the torso mechanism has been redesigned) but the fit isn't perfect. The DD3 is a bit slimmer so there are gaps with the bust pieces which might bother you, but they don't bother me at all.

fransyung from DoA did a good comparison post between the DD2 and DD3 bodies here on his LJ blog showing the differences. The only error on his blog that I should mention is that a DD3 can do the splits sitting down - it just takes a bit of maneuvering.

In particular you can see the gaps he's talking about in these pics (they are showing an M-bust but the gaps are the same with a L-bust) -

I didn't mean to confuse when I mentioned the shapely bust. I was referring to the DD2-B-04, which is a option part for DD2 (and DD3). It's the bust that Beatrice DD had.

You might want to wait until the DD3 body is released on it's own. Right now the only dolls with DD3 bodies are Sakuya, Moe v.2, Aoi v.2 and Yukino v.2.

I hope DDIII is not like DDS which is still not available as a standard base body.

I'm surprised the DDS body isn't available as a standard base body yet. And here I was thinking about drinking a gallon of sake in a celebration once the DDS body becomes available as a standard base body...

Well, as Mitsuki said, hopefully the DIII body is not like the DDS body which is still unavailable.

Hmmm Does anybody know If you can take the DDIII's arms and use them on the DDII's body? If they end up selling parts the way they are for the DDS that would mean you could buy the new arms to give the DDII body improved arm posing.

I have seen DDS arms on DDII and DDdy, so I think DDIII arms can be moved to a DDII as well.

Does anyone actually know if/when VOLKS have planned to release these in their stores?

And not just in pieces...

We are all wondering if bodies will end up being sold in parts from now on.

I wouldn't mind them selling the parts separately, along side the full body- Considering that I've read about the internal skeleton being easily damaged.

Since they already sell all the parts separately for the DDS (which is a new thing, before if you broke an armature you had to buy an entirely new body) I don't think we have to worry about them suddenly stopping. The topic seems to be pointing more at the possibility of the bodies NOT being sold as full bodies anymore.

I wouldn't mind this if Volks had an option where it would add all the pieces you needed to your cart with one "add to" button rather than having to add them all yourself and in the process give you a bit of a discount for buying the components needed to build a FULL body...

Haha, a discount, that'll be the day. I think it was around the same price to put together DDII body parts to make a whole one as it was to just choose the full body option actually, unless my math is off (which it could be).

Like I said in the other topic though, I'd MUCH rather a delay in them releasing the base body if it is to fix the cracking issues I saw in the other post. This is rather a critical thing for me as I am definitely no repairman, but I also don't want to have to buy and/or replace things that are sold as inherently defective (Nvidia, I'm looking at YOU). This is ESPECIALLY so because I plan on adopting some new custom daughters now that I realized it didn't cost 500$ for a new DD body (I don't even know the reason I thought it was that much).

The DDII replacement parts don't include the internal skeleton. The DDS parts including the parts of the skeleton was a new thing. You could then build a whole DDS with skeleton from the parts.

Good to know, lol. I hope its the same with DD3, and likely so if they're doing it for DDS
