Harleyquinne Posted June 5, 2013 I am one of the many poor unfortunate souls that did not win Asuna in the lottery. I also do not have the means to try and get her in the aftermarket at this time. But I do have plenty of fabric, a sewing machine, and determination. I'm not the best seamstress in the world, so I'm sure I will have many, many, MANY mistakes, but I'm putting this out there in case anyone would like to join me in my project or can lend their expertise in pattern drafting. Here is what I have so far (Please excuse the messiness of the patterns): Legging pattern: Sleeve pattern: I'll be working on her top next. Note - I work very slowly! Here's what a mock up of the legging looks like. I'm using a lycra material. My first time trying to embroider anything with my sewing machine. I think it came out alright, but I could use some practice. It looks like I tried to feed it through too quickly. Also, the embroidery on lycra makes it a little puckered - I'm hoping it smooths out once I try it on. My DDII body is still in transit so I can't see what it looks like quite yet. If any of you feel like trying out the patterns, let me know your results!
DivinitaAria Posted June 7, 2013 Did you use an iron on stabilizer for the satin stitch? This could help with the puckering Otherwise, your test piece looks really good! http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&rlz=1G1TSNACENUS370&biw=1895&bih=844&q=sulky+totally+stable&wrapid=tlif12928060531561&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=4339431416466534340&ei=rKcOTbLZFIKKlwfB-7WpDA&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=10&ved=0CG4Q8wIwCQ# Rise - Rise // Rise #2 - Rise // Ritsuko - 2B // Momo - M.O.M.O. // Nayuki -Mikuru // Romi - 09 // Makoto - Sailor Jupiter // Mikasa - DD07 (WIP) Waiting on: DDH-25 for custom Akechi 🥰
Harleyquinne Posted June 7, 2013 I didn't have any stabilizer so I used interfacing - I guess that wasn't the best choice. The puckering didn't show up until after I stretched it (because it is lycra) I suppose that's why the official version is made from a non-stretchy material. Once my body gets here, I can see how it looks on an actual leg to see if the puckering goes away. I may even just make a body stocking for it (that will double as the lining, too.) and stitch it onto the stocking.
