As someone who didn't like ws Mariko and feels like this one corrects the issues I had, I am annoyed. *shakes fist*

I'm totally going for SWS Mariko - she's been at the top of my wishlist for a while, and now she actually will exist

 

Plus I do love the Volks akiba girl uniforms, so it's a double combo hit from Volks. I'm not crazy for her wig though, it looks like Neris' where the braids have a lot of stray hairs and are too messy for my taste.

Gahhhh she's so cute >_< Must save money....

 

Natsuki's PJ's are cute! I like the sleep mask it reminds me of Yurine from Karas!

Even tho I have no interest in getting this Mariko, I just wanted to say that the original shouldn't be dropping in price like some people seem to be worrying about. This new one is a different bust, a different skin tone and a different wig so she's pretty much totally a different girl. I seriously doubt people will be selling off their originals just to "upgrade" to this newer version.... as evidenced by many people posting earlier.

 

Saber Alter was a reissue and her original version didn't take a significant hit overall. Yes, she had seen prices between $1500-$1800 beforehand and leveled off to about $1300-$1400 but that's not a big drop really. It's not like the original Mariko will drop to under $900 anytime soon so I wouldn't worry about her losing value. besides, how many of us are REALLY into the hobby for financial reasons anyways?

 

One other thing.... is anyone else wondering the following?

 

1) What age is this version of Mariko supposed to be? If she's an S-bust, how many years did it take her to hit her Shapely L-bust self? How old is she supposed to be as a teacher?

 

2) Her hair in braids is way darker than her short haired original wig. Is she dying it lighter now to hide her gray?

 

3) And if she WAS an S-bust in middle/high school, did she just hit a growth spurt quickly or are those fake boobs now?

Well I've already seen a few Marikos sell for lower than 100k on YJA XD Her finishing price is usually around 90-120k. We'll see though uvu~

SWS Mariko is cute, she'd look great in other outfits and wigs. If I have some money then I may go for her but she isn't a need. Good luck to those who are going for her.

Just saw the PJ sets. I NEED Moe's and Natsuki's! Alna's is sexy but not my girl's style. I like her wig though even thought it appears to be just her default in twin tails.

I would think that even though she is a S bust that her default outfit would fit a M bust too. Usually S and M bust girls can easily wear each others outfits.

Anyway, I will probably enter for her as I've been wanting a Mariko since I've seen owner photos of her. If I don't get her then I will still be on the lookout for the original WS since that face is just really totally adorable. Why does Volks do this to us? Just when one resolves to not purchase anymore dolliehs, they do this - a doll I could not resist! Argghhh!!! I resisted Asuna, I resisted Ryoma, but this is too much.

I don't think it's mean and it's the main reason Mariko could never be a part of my family. She looks way too scared to live with the likes of my over the top family of girls. Mitsuki got one and she visited me for a little while and the entire time she looked like she wanted to faint.

 

So yeah, I can totally see a Mariko getting bullied by girls with strong personalities due to how shy, quiet and scared she looks.

I don't think its mean since I can totally see her as that. In my case though, I'm picturing her as being teased no end by one of my boys, Kaylus most likely but since he has Mari, maybe not so much. But if I get her, I am so going to find her a boy dollieh to be paired off with. Dang, there goes my no more dolliehs for now policy again.

Yeah, same here. Granted, Nanoha would be pretty nice to her, but she'd also be pretty overprotective, and may even take it on herself to "teach" Mariko how to stand up for herself, which could be pretty disastrous given how tough Nanoha's lesson plans can be. Agatha on the other hand would try to rope her into playing minion, only to snap at her a bit when she couldn't keep up with her weirder requests. And all my possible wantlist are also rather strong personalities, so none of them would be much help either.

 

It's kind of too bad, because there are some really cute, sweet girls out there I'd love otherwise, like Mariko, a number of customs I've seen from YJA, and perhaps even Mikuru as she wouldn't have a default protector like Elizabeth has in Sango.

 

Basically, I'm relying on the forum here to give me my sweet-girl fix, because in my house they'd end up either a constant butt-monkey or turn yandere.
