OMG!! Miku!!!

 

I really like what I see so far and the fact she is a pre-order is even better. I know if I pass her up I will totally regret it. I think I'm going for it and taking part in this pre-order project. I hope they do like they are doing with KOS-MOS and M.O.M.O and want the payment when Miku is actually done and ships. *fingers crossed*

I'm not a huge Miku fan, so I'm rather interested if there will be a second DD for preorder and who it will be.

main issue is that it takes so long to get the dolls (usually around 10 months until you make payment) and then shipping can take another month or so after that

limiteds are limited. preorder is not. they have to make 10 times more compared to the limited. so it takes alot longer

She is on DD body if I understand well ? (SWS ?) Gives a chance to see a DDS Rin Kagamine as the hypothetical second doll ?

Wow! I so want Miku!!! I very Luka too but I have only 200$ so I can not buy Miku

Limited girls have a limited number released that Volks can dictate based partly on how many they think they can handle. The Saber preorders of 2011 overwhelmed Volks with the high demand, and they had to split the release into two groups that both got pushed back by months. They had a hard time keeping the web store stocked with regular items since they were working over capacity, making a shortage of DD bodies. And there were a few quality control issues since there was such a rush. So the next year for the Kos Mos and MOMO preorder they just said right up front that you wouldn't get your doll til the next fall. Hopefully there are no QC issues this way.

 

My only issue with the Kos Mos preorder is payment. I don't remember if you could pay up front, but I do onow I wouldn't have wanted to drop that kind of money right before Christmas. But I could've paid for her in February or so, and that wasn't an option. They want payment on completion, which I now don't have due to unexpected expenses. I sort of wish I could've paid for her before, but I guess it's good I didn't...

 

Anyway, back OT, I probably won't order Miku. Not because I don't trust the preorder process. I like that with these high demand girls everyone can have one. But I don't keep my girls as their character every day, and I cant think of a particular reason to get her other than that she's Miku.

@shinegamix ~ Haha yeah if nothing happens Miku will help round out my family number. I was going to try to make Melty that magical number 10, but since Miku is more in my price range and a pre-order she is the best option for me.

 

Plus I'm already looking at potential wigs for Miku. XD Also knowing me I'll probably still end up getting Melty and then I'll start hunting for number 12...lol! Before I know it I'll have a DD sanctuary in my bedroom.

I know that they would probably get many more orders through the pre-order system than the limiteds system, but it's a bit of a shock to hear it takes one year, and even after thinking about it I still find it strange that the order takes so long. I would have thought that they would work out a way to reduce the wait time seeing as they have had a few years to work out the system. But that is my personal expectation and in the end I do like that they are easier to order than lottery girls

It's pretty likely at this point I'll be getting Miku and her alternate outfit(?) too ! She's too cute not to pass up ;v;

It should be like the Xenosaga pre-order project, you pay when it's ready for shipment, but we shall see when Volks come out with more information about it.

I'm glad I lost out at the latest lottery. I'm so preordering Miku.

I actually prefer the preorder strategy to the limited dollfie approach.

I agree - I'd love another Persona 4 girl.

 

After giving it some thought, I think I'll pass on Miku. She is a wonderful character but she is not that hard to recreate yourself and personally, I don't feel comfy with the 1-year wait for a preorder.

 

Senbonzakura outfit might be up for order as well

 

Senbonzakura's nice and all, but what I'm more interested in is the fact that it looks like there were prototypes on display at the event. Anybody with better Japanese Google-Fu able to dig up event attendee shots of them?

Thanks! Looks like the event's lighting was a bit poor, lol. Still, even then I like how she looks in that blurry shot better than in the Volks promo. XD She just seems so intense there, much like my "headcannon" for her.
