Volks JP at Magical Mirai 2013 Hatsune Miku Event

I'm completely new to the pre-orders for Volks, and I'm sorry if this is in here somewhere else, but I heard on another board that you pre-order the doll then pay for it when it's ready to ship. Is this true? Also, you just do so on the Volks site? I love her, but the money....If we don't have to pay for her until she's ready to ship I'd probably be o.k.

I'm curious what the preorder price is thru Volks USA. They made a remark about it on their FB page --- but I know their setups are usually different because of their Yahoo checkout system. I hope they announce it soon so we have time compare betwene the US rate and the JP rate.

Well, they did fix the exchange rate (ex. Miko dropped by $200 and is now only $20 more before shipping and handling). I guess it depends on how confident you are about the usd vs yen.

I thought that Volks would've learned their lesson after the Saber Web Order Event, but I guess they want as much money as they can get from people even if it causes shortages (which hopefully it doesn't this time around ). I suppose on the upside this is good for anyone who might've wanted multiples of doll and/or the Senbonzakura Outfit Set (though being able to order 10 of this set is a bit excessive I think )

 

I'll pre-order the Senbonzakura Outfit Set from whoever is more convenient. I'm leaning towards Volks USA because I do love to pick up my items at the store hehe. But we'll see plus I need to see clearer pictures of the set~

did they do that for the other preorder events? I wonder why they didn't just make it a one preorder per person kind of thing. but then again, its a preorder -- they will just make as many as they have orders for. though, usually if you do a preorder with another company you pay them up front before they even make the item. volks could end up with a ton of Miku's left over from people wanting to order multiples then being unable to pay a year from now.

 

i'd like to see the updated photos of the sakura outfit.. i keep checking the website but its still blank. doooh... >_<

Really bummed they don't seem to be releasing the option hands outside of the paper left she comes with. Paint matching those nails is going to be tedious, and won't even be possible until she finally ships a year from now. >.<

 

I know that Rei-Sama on Figure.fm is rejoicing at the order limit--4 is the exact number he wants. To me however I'm also worried about quantity issues. They do mention the possibility of splitting shipments into batches, which I *really* don't want to see happen after the Saber fiasco. I'll have to hedge my bets and place my order early, to avoid being placed in a second (or heaven forbid, third) batch.

i can understand why you can order multiple miku. she is the only pre order girl. i always thought they came in pairs. The wigcap looks promising. its pretty light in color. also the first as far as i know with 2 different hand

I'm pretty sure Haruhi came with a mixed default pair of hands: one gripping and one pointing if I recall correctly.

It's too bad I'll likely have to spring for extra hands, hopefully they'll have sws hands stocked by then. I do think allowing 4 a piece for a character as popular as Miku is a bit crazy on their part. I really hope they aren't biting off a lot more than they can chew on this. Waiting a year is going to be hard enough, I'd to have to deal with further delays and production issues... I'm happy to see more pictures! I wish they'd give us a shot of just the outfit set laid out, though. And I'd REALLY love to know for certain whether she'll be a one piece body or a changeable bust. The fact that they don't specify that she's one piece leads me to hope that she'll be a standard two piece, but the only other SS bust so far was one- piece so....

Yeah but with Chihaya they made a point to say unibody torso -- so I think Miku will just be the standard set up

Judging from the senbonzakura photo from the event -- I wonder if they will be offering another wig with her. The color seems different - maybe even eyes since they're not blue in the games (if I remember right).

It actually specifically states that she comes with one paper hand and one normal hand and that the painted nails are a special edition on the English site. If you want more option hands I think you're going to have to paint them yourself unfortunately.
