Haha. No it's not that. Actually Volks photographs are sometimes better than the actual product, IMHO.

I placed my order in via a local shop days after PO's started (I decided to get the senbonzakura outfit a few days before orders closed too) , and the year long wait is definitely going to kill me _(:3 」∠)_

 

I also spent like a couple of hours thinking of a good name for her (I like to plan in advance haha). I don't even think I'll keep her as the default miku, definitely want to customize her.

 

I actually am wondering when would volks ever put her in different wig colors. I want to see her in a white wig tbqh

Oooh, a white wig could be cool on her! I'd like to see black, since I got two black wigs in my Dollheart grab bags. Grey could look nice too. I'm afraid the green eyelash/eyebrows could make warm tones like blond, reds, some browns, and some purples look kinda funky though. Really really hope Volks answers that question for us.

 

My Miku is definitely going to stay as Miku for her character, but that doesn't mean she's going to stay stock all the time. I anticipate changing wigs now and again, especially to something short (and therefore easier to maintain) for meets, and there's some chance I may change her eyes to the turquoise ones I made forever and a day ago.

 

A year's quite a wait, but I'd much much rather deal with that than lottery anxiety. Now the danger is spending on clothes for her, since I know she's probably going to be a clothes horse.

I would really like to see Miku in a light brown wig or red, since I'm planning to keep her default eyes in and a nice brown or red wig would look nice with her eyes. I don't have any wigs at home yet that Miku could wear and seeing her in different coloured wigs, before she gets here, would be very helpful. A white wig could look really nice on her. o:

 

My Miku is not quite staying as Miku. She'll be a girl that is a big Hatsune Miku fan, so much so, that she may have even convinced herself that she is the "real" Hatsune Miku. >_> I find this may solve the teal eyebrow problem by explaining it away as something she does for her cosplay. ^^;

Initially my Suigetsu was overall teal color themed but I don't want to keep her close to her Miku image so that will have to change... I'm definitely not sure which way I'll go just yet since I don't want any of my dollfie dreams to share hair and eye colors with the others around here... Chestnut brown is a candidate because I actually saw a dream of me putting my Miku in a wig that color but I'm also considering red and pale blond. Black and white should also be interesting on her though.

I hope volks gives her striped underwear in the final release. I saw on a picture she has default white for now.. Stripes would be so cute.

As the owner of both a totally custom doll and a character doll, I've come to believe that even if you keep a doll as their default character they'll still develop their own flavor and quirks depending on the owner. If you're letting go of the Miku persona that change will likely happen quicker, too. So I think so long as you "bond" with her she'll naturally evolve into something unique. That's one of the most fun things about a new doll!

 

Trying to guess what my own Miku will become is making the wait harder, so I've been trying to tell myself not to worry about it until she gets here. Not sure how well it's working.

Ugh! Real glad I managed to get her properly preordered--sifting through delusional scalper listings like that is probably my least favorite part of unicorn hunting. Best of luck (and patience! especially pateince) to those of you who have to hunt aftermarket to get her!

if everyone that wants Miku doesn't cave in to those prices they should, hopefully, come down a lot from that o____o not sure if there are enough people out there with the sheer willpower to wait it out and send the message that Miku shouldn't cost that much so soon (and she aint even out yet for crying out loud! paying someone that much in advance for a doll they don't even have that goes against all logic.. XD)

I wonder how saturated the market is going to be after she finally ships since Volks didn't cap the number you could order. I really hope that if anyone actually bids on the Miku listing that they have money to burn.

Actually, didn't they limit it to four per person? so probably it's not gonna be like the sabers (where afaik there was no limit on how many you'd be able to order of the girls) and it won't be saturated...hopefully.

 

But I really think scalpers might be banking on the fact that it's miku that they'd be able to put up that high of a price lol (or that's what I think anyway haha )

I think that's one of the down sides of Volks doing well known characters, the scalpers come out of the woodwork.

Volks Intl had a 4 doll limit. VolksUSA had no doll limit but you had to pay at least $300ish per pre-order.

Specifically, while Volks International *online* had the 4 doll limit, Volks Japan *stores* had no limit. Nor did Volks USA. (Apparently the biggest shipping boxes can only hold 4 dolls, and I guess the online fulfillment section didn't want to deal with multiple boxes going to the same person.)

After seeing the box that our Xenosaga girls came in, a box to fit 4 Miku's would be huge! *Suddenly imagines 4 Mikus in a box talking and singing at one another* Wow, that might be really creepy.

Actually, the first thing that popped into my head was the scene from the original "Gremlins" movie when the new mogwai were in a box on the floor and separated. Some were outside knocking on the box wall and others were inside trying to figure out what the heck was doing the knocking.

 

I wonder if you get Miku wet, will she multiply into multiple, evil Miku clones?
