Only if you do that after midnight! Though I suppose every hour is sometime after some midnight or other. :/ Guess it's between the hours of midnight and 6am? Gremlins never was clear about that.

I keep imagining pictures where someone is walking around (like in some town) and this big box keeps popping up everywhere, 'peeking' out from behind things, etc. kinda like some pics I've seen of the Danbo figure, or Creepy Woody. The unnerving part comes in when you hear a cardboard box *thump* *thump* *thumping* from a dark alley, and then the 4 Mikus start taking from inside the box, saying completely random creepy things and not actually talking together.

 

I'm starting to look forward to playing with Raven's Miku's alternate otaku personality. We've already decided that she's a Doctor Who fan (she loves the Daleks), with Star Trek and Star Wars probably coming in closely behind. I'm just looking forward to dressing Miku in frumpy clothes, baggy sweaters/sweatshirts, shorts, and legwarmers!

Haha! My Miku's likely to be a bit of a troll too, but I think she'd handle that just a bit differently. (Maybe shouldn't say in case I use it, but suffice it to say the talking box following the others is not the real punchline. )

 

Seems like many people see Miku as a bit of a troll, actually, even those who aren't keeping her as Miku proper. Kind of curious now how many of you are changing her character but keeping her a singer.

 

Speaking of singing, I just realized that I've got some sheet music for piano + vocal floating around; maybe I should scan them so she can have some music books to work from. Granted, the biggest of those is a Kingston Trio book (50's/60's folk music), and I don't think I've ever heard anyone use Miku for that style. I guess that's all the more reason for me to do it!

So , are you going to keep your girl as miku or is she going to be a OC of your's?

Funnily enough I already have a "robot character that was built in order to sing" but that character is by no means my Miku! xD Mine is going to be a specialized anti-demon weapon/gynoid (and resident tsundere when it comes to her brother's lover)

 

Folk music sounds awesomely unique Poofiemus, go for it!

I like the really gothic/weird/scary aspect of vocaloid. Since I'm getting two I think I'll paint one like the "Rotten Girl/Grotesque Romance" Miku I saw on Utube. I am worried they are going to release a bunch of cool costumes and I'll only have the two girls LOL. I like to paint them to match the outfits. I can't wait. I'm going to set up a savings account next month just for the dolls so I don't have to worry about scrambling for money at the last minute LOL. Maybe I'll wind up with enough to pick up the Xenosaga girl I missed out on as well on the second hand market

Yeah, the Snow Miku announcement just boils down to Volks opening another preorder period for regular DD Miku from Feb 8-11. It doesn't seem to have anything related to Snow Miku, other than being "in honor of" her, during the Sapporo Ice Festival timeframe. At least, that's what it says so far...

I don't know if I want to hope that you're right or you're wrong. If you're right then my wallet is in no danger, but if it turns out you're wrong, I would love for there to be an official Miku option outfit that I actually want to own. (Snow 2012 and 2014 stand a particular chance of nabbing me. 2013 is pretty, but just never said "snow" to me--actually, when I first saw it I assumed it had to do with strawberries. ^^; )

 

It does say that the number of new Miku orders available is limited and currently there's only the Japanese site for it, so it could be rough to get one this way. Best of luck to those of you going this route!

I really hope Volks will release Miku's 2014 Snow Outfit. I love the outfit so much.

From what I understand they'll re-open the pre-order period (more Mikus up for pre-order... omg) AND the outfit, but maybe I'm wrong...?

I hope that if they do release another outfit for her it will be available to international customers, I really want to get all the option outfits for Miku but I'm starting to get the feeling that may turn out to be hard and/or expensive.....
