I have never been more glad that I made a point of ordering her on the first day! She WILL be my Christmas present! Or maybe New Year's present, but whatever, close enough. SO HAPPY~

 

I have to say Poofie, I'm SO happy for you too! When I read that some of the Volks USA Mikus would be shipping before Feb, I was really hoping you'd be in that group. For Raven and I at least, you have been a pretty big/important person to us on the forums the last few years, and I got pretty excited when I originally heard you were going to order Miku. I've thought for a long time that if anyone deserved more special girls in their family, it surely would be you. I was upset for you when they announced the delays (I've also had a year where I feel like I'm continually getting kicked in the teeth,) so I'm entirely delighted that you got such good news today!

Yeah, in my opinion a lot of colours look good on her, you would only need to change the colour of her eyebrows to something neutral ^-^

Or you could just remove them entirely... Uh, I mean, maybe she's one of those girls who shaves off her eyebrows and paints them back on.

Oh, that'd be a pretty simple change, I didn't even think of it Sometimes it's really handy that DD default face-ups don't involves sealant or pastels. I managed to redo Iris's face-up the other day while leaving her original eyebrows intact.

Wow, thanks! I'm really flattered. As for having more special girls in the family, I'm hardly adverse to more--it just takes a lot to get them in the door. I guess it's a fairly exclusive club here at Poof's Safe House for Crazy People. But yeah, the good Miku news, getting into the groove at my new job, and finding that I got my oven clean (enough) not to set off the smoke alarm every time I use it, I'd say this week's pretty good.

I was thinking about that already, though I'm glad to see the need isn't as dire as I thought.

 

I'm undecided though as to whether or not I want to give her a new faceup. I'd like to paint her and have some ideas (upping the mischief factor a bit), but her default's so cuuuuute. Hopefully Kymaera will get his Miku in time for the local meet on Saturday so I can judge in person.

Huh, just noticed from box opening pics that Miku's SS bust is totally different from Chihaya's SS bust sculpt. At least that's how it looked to me, mebbe somebody with both bodies can confirm.

Anyway, seeing Miku in a pink wig is super adorable and makes me a little sad I didn't order her, she's a cutie!

Chihaya was a one-piece body, wasn't she? I think there are pretty significant differences between the one-piece and two-piece at the same bust size (at least, Melty's one-piece M-bust body is suuuuuper different from the regular two-piece M-bust bodies).

Miku's bust is noticeably bigger though. I think the difference is based on the fact that she's a DD, not a DDS (er, even though they'd be about the same age).

Good point, there's a noticeable difference in the DDS bust sculpts vs regular DD bust. Miku's bust looks a little fuller but flattened, and she doesn't have her ribs showing as much as Chihaya. Not a bad thing, Chihaya looks a little underfed because of that, poor dear ^_^;

Why not try body binding, with gauze bandage Like they do in anime /Yankee's ? Instead of a bust it might appear more of a flat masculine pecs?

My Miku arrived yesterday and I'm really happy with her I can't find any issues which is a relief considering all the issues that came up with prior pre-order dolls. Here's a pic of her in one of the new outfits that was released

After playing with Miku for a short while, I think the body would still be suitable for a boy even with fitted clothing as long as you sanded down the nips. You probably wouldn't be able to get away with skin tight clothing but I think with some sanding and some body binding like Oni-Chan mentioned it would be a great male body.

Got Miku today. her head wont stay up because the hair is too weighty. Put her in a maid costume, very cute. I heard the tape can damage the vinyl skin, does anyone have a link to show where this was posted?

I had similar plans for the SS-bust and I'm disappointed its bigger than Chihaya's bust too. With clothes on the chest looks pretty darn flat though, I don't think it'll be any trouble except for maybe tight knit t-shirts/going topless.

I just wanted to say a couple of things about Miku (so Raven can say what he wants after he wakes up): Surprisingly I didn't have any trouble at all putting on her wig. Less than 10 seconds, literally. It took me longer to look up a pic to see how her bangs were supposed to be (instructions were down stairs.)

 

The other thing is about her shirt. With the SS bust it just looks frumpy, there seems to be no shape despite it being highly tailored. On the plus side it works with the S bust perfectly. No other comments on the clothes right now because Raven had to go to bed before we could get her all dressed up.

That's exactly what I recall too. ^^; So unfortunately it was more likely the 20th of October, in which case you're the second batch.

I..... found it surprisingly easy to put miku's wig on ^v^ just adding my 2cents worth.

Sorta off topic but might be helpful to those who are struggling to put on the ponytail/updo wig without damaging it

 

Ive lined the wigs with the protection tape from Volks and they seem to slip on easier (cut the tape into small pieces and line the wig on the edge, dont put it all in one go because it will expand)

I think some of the wigs are just looser/tighter than others. I was able to put the senbonzakura wig on just fine, but the default one I just can't manage, it's way too tight :/ I emailed Volks about the problem, but I haven't heard back yet. I just wanna put her wig on

So I got to see Kymaera's Miku in person yesterday--she's gorgeous!--and I noticed that she comes with *large* hands.

 

. . .. the ones I bought for her are all normal size. >.<

 

Looks like my girl'll have mismatched hands, unless it's worth emailing Volks about?
