So I got to see Kymaera's Miku in person yesterday--she's gorgeous!--and I noticed that she comes with *large* hands.

. . .. the ones I bought for her are all normal size. >.<

Looks like my girl'll have mismatched hands, unless it's worth emailing Volks about?

She comes with large hands!? I have only bought one pair of hands for her, so far, and they're the normal size. I guess I can keep them in case I ever get another SWS girl.

For those of you that have girls with large hands and normal sized hands (or have at least seen both sizes in person) - do they look strange next to each other? As in, having a girl with normal sized hands next to one with large hands. I have never seen the larger hands in person before.

*DD “Miku Hatsune” comes with a Normal Right Hand (DDII-H-01) and a Paper / Outspread Left Hand (DDII-H-04). The painted nails are a special edition. No other hands are included in her set.

It's odd that Volks says she comes with normal hands, but actually comes with the larger hands. O_o

Hmm, my Miku definitely came with regular sized hands, I just checked.

Well my Miku came with two sets of normal sized hands so I wonder if it's an error that she came with the large?

Oh! That's good to know! Thank you.

It may have been an error if she came with large hands, since Volks says she is supposed to come with normal sized hands.

That's incorrect. She has normal-sized hands.

Hi guys! My Miku came home today and she is adorable! The only thing is she doesn't have the tattoo on her arm that is shown in the promo pics. Is that normal?

She comes with a sheet of water decals (8 in all I think?) and instructions on how to apply it. If you do use it I'd recommend sealing it with Mr. Super Clear (the non-uv cut version) or some other type of matt sealant to stop it getting scratched.

Hello I´m going to join the discussion.^^

My miku came a few days ago and I have to say her wig is really difficult to put on. We needed two people...(and I have been a bjd owner for 3 years now and recently got into DD, but this wig was definitely something...) Maybe we even managed to get a small shiny spot on her face, but I don´t bother too much. If I understood it correctly, you can apply a new layer of mr. super clear to make it matt again?

About the hands: mine came with normal ones too, so I guess that the large ones must have been sent by misstake...

So I'm not the only one with a difficult wig ;_; I didn't want to force the wig too much, so I haven't gotten mine on yet. DDs don't have any sealant on to start with, but you can add some if you want.

I somehow managed it, but I nearly gave up in the process.

So the mark must be a damage in the surface then?

I wouldn't put Mr. Super Clear on it. Volks doesn't use it, and it makes things a bit foggy so it will make her faceup look really different. I don't have any other advice though.

Ok thanks you two.^^

I guess I´ll just have to live with it then, it´s only about the size of a needlepoint.

Chihaya

Figured I would mention a couple things. Firstly like everyone says, this wig if you got unlucky can be hell on earth to put on. I fiddled with it for nearly 2 hours. The only way I could get mine on was to flat out pull on the hair as hard as I could. I was ticked off and dident care if it broke. Some of the hair in the back by the twin tails has been pulled out and looks awful now. It shipped with a weird lump of hair that dident get fully extended into one of the twin tails, its a bit hard to describe but it would really tick some people off.

Maybe it was just sheer luck but I will say that Miku compared to the only other DD I have being Chihaya, is far sturdier and bends almost exactly how you would expect it to. I maybe got unlucky with my Chihayas body but its such a pain to mess around with I dont ever move it once its finally in a pose I like, Miku this is not a problem.

In some angles there is a lot of stress on the head and it wants to bend backwards because of the heavy wig. Careful of the tie breaking. Also I take it the sleeves are going to stain the hands? Its got the same green trim as the top, which they recommend the tape be put on the arm.

Are you sure you're applying it correctly? When I use it's completely clear and you wouldn't know it was there except that the paint and pastels are sealed, even with 10 layers of it.

Unless it is put on too thick... Took me a couple few tries to figure it out right when I started using it.

A quick note about the wig order form. Someone already said that it says the orders would be japan only.

I asked volks if they´ll sell the additional wig overseas in any way, but they told me the option was meant to be restricted to japanese customers. I had really hoped they´d start offering those options for overseas too....

The problem is with Super Clear Flat, the gloss is fine.

I use MSC flat for my DD face-ups, it's worked fine...

Of course you can use it to finish a faceup, but if you were to use it on a finished Volks faceup to fix a glossy spot the size of a needlepoint, it would be noticeable. Any matte sealer will desaturate colours, and Super Clear Flat is a notoriously foggy sealer. For example,

before after

It affects darker colours much more strongly than light ones.

Edit: We're way off topic now, but for further enjoyment you can compare the stuff in this photo. That's Krylon Matte Varnish on top, gloss in the middle, and Super Clear Flat on the bottom SCF can make things look beautiful because it diffuses, which is why I use it on skin tone, but it's not neutral at all.

The only thing I see that happened is that it lost its gloss-ness. Which is something to expect when you spray over with a Matte sealant ^_^;;;;;;; But DD face-ups have no gloss on them. So it should be more than fine, in my opinion.

You could also try rubbing the spot with a melamine sponge like Magic Eraser. If it's oily or just rubbed smooth that should do the trick. Magic Eraser is a super-fine abrasive so be careful not to rub the painted parts.

That would be an option too...The spot is near her lips on the left side, I don´t think its already on the blushed area of the cheeks, but I´m not sure. Do you know any good brands? Since these products tend to vary a little.

Still waiting on Volks to update and let us know when the second delivery is scheduled. Hope it is before 2015 but I have a feeling that it won't be.

My order was placed October 1st at 12:00:45am (Japan time). 46 seconds to late to make the first shipment.
