Volks JP at Magical Mirai 2013 Hatsune Miku Event

As far as I'm concerned, their customer disservice is unforgivable.

 

I agree. I've only placed one other order (aside from Miku) with Volks USA and had crappy service. It was last year, sometime around late spring. I ordered some hands. I didn't get a shipping email for over a week, so I emailed them to ask for a status update. Three days later, I got three emails from them within ten minutes. The later two were both my shipping notification, with tracking number. The first was a very snippy email saying they'd obviously shipped it a week ago and I'd know that if I'd bothered to check my spam box AND inbox regularly because clearly I'd just missed the email. And they're busy, so I shouldn't bother them with pointless emails (I only emailed once, it wasn't around a clickwar, lottery or any other special order time).

 

The kicker? My tracking number said my shipping label had just been created that day.

 

I understand being busy and forgetting to ship something. It's not the first time it's happened to me and won't be the last. It's the rudeness and lying that bother me. So of my two Volks USA orders to date, both are awful.

 

The only good service I've received from them: I moved a few months after ordering Miku and emailed them about making sure my shipping address for her was changed. I guess I'll see if it really was in a few months.

 

There's no real advantage for ordering from USA over Int'l for me. I'm in Canada, so both require unfavourable exchange rates and similar shipping times/costs (shipping is slightly cheaper from USA, but the JPY exchange rate is better) and customs fees. After Miku and that hand crap I'm definitely 100% an Int'l customer.

Good god. I dodged a bullet not ordering Miku from VolksUSA. Reading all these complaints makes me not ever want to order anything from them. Crappy customer service is crappy. All hail glorious Volks Int'l.

I think this is part of why Volks USA stopped selling the limited dolls. It sounds like it was a massive logistic hassle to get them to the states and there's always going to be a long delay between Japanese release and USA release. It's much more straight forward to just have the US customers order straight from the international site which they can do anyway. Meanwhile US customers will always have the US site as a exclusive reserve if they can't get stuff on the international site.

the delay is almost certainly that they ship by slow boat from japan to the states, so it must land at the volks shipping facility where they get it from the manufacturer, if not volks HQ itself before sorting what goes where... then sending it to the outward dock where it will sit until the container is filled and then again for it's shipping slot on the boat. Figure 2-3 weeks to cross the pacific to the port of entry where it's offloaded and sits again until it's inspected and released by customs and then sent to volks us. This is how business is done for many other import/export business and merchandise.

 

Stuff can sit at a port for many weeks, in fact the 2011 tsunami destroyed several shipping ports and all the wares waiting to be inspected or shipped. To lower the cost of freight you fill the container as full as you can, so until that container is filled, your stuff is going to sit there for a while.

 

Likewise after it arrives, someone has to offload it from the ship and put it into a marshalling area for customs inspection and offloading. Logistically it doesn't make sense for a niche item to be sold this way, I don't know why they felt it was good to do it like this. express shipping from overseas is not that expensive anymore.

what is wrong with volks International? I have been sending emails asking about my Miku (which should be shipped already as I'm in the second batch), but there are no reply (not a single reply email). ANybody is having the same problem? Quite frustrated and disappointed with them now.. sigh.. been waiting for my Miku to be shipped... this sucks.

I emailed Volks Int the other day and got a automated reply saying they are on holidays until Jan 5th. I hope they don't put off my emails too long, they aren't the best at responding in my limited experience. I wonder if they would respond better/faster if I emailed them in Japanese?

Give them a little longer. They're probably coming off their New Years break (yes, they get holiday time for New Years). It's a serious holiday, cut them some slack. I've heard horror stories from friends who got banned from a Lolita fashion site because of "too many emails" over the New Years break some time ago.

It seems like afther some time mikus headphones will cause dark black stains on her ears.

I also found out that the wig (which for some people like me had been too tight) causes the head to get dents...

When I removed her clothes and body suit today I was actually shoked to see the rim of the wig beeing

basically "engraved" into the material. I never thought that a wig could cause that kind of damage.

I'll have to check mine today when i get home to check if this has happen to mine.

I've had a pair of tight socks leave stitch shaped dents on my girl's thighs before, so it doesn't surprise me that a very tight wig could leave indents. The stitch marks faded after a bit.

Indeed. If I'm going to preorder then I'd like to get my order in soon after they start accepting them since there's undoubtedly going to be massive delays for latecomers. So that leaves 25 days or so to decide?

But yeah, this is a great opportunity to those who want the doll but doesn't want to keep her as "Miku". There will be lots of us Miku owners who want to buy the outfit set (with the wig and eyes of course). I really wish Volks won't start shipping Yuki Miku until autumn. I must save money for my holiday trip in summer and can't buy anything expensive before that.

Maybe she'll show up before my regular Miku does. I have to order this one. For a couple of months now, I was kind of thinking of picking up a regular Miku on the after market if her price was low. This fixes that problem; I will have Miku twins after all!

 

Volks, please, please DO NOT release a Sakura Miku this year too.

I don't know what I'll do about this yet. I had just deterimined to actively save up for a resin bjd I've been wanting for over a year. He got put off because of Miku, I can't afford multiple new dolls right now.

 

I think Snow Miku has a pink line on her lips instead of black, it gives a softer look...

 

I guess it's easy for them to just tweak the original Miku's production parts to make Snow Miku, maybe we'll get Sakura Miku too (who would need pink eyebrows, ha ha).

I'm still really glad I got the original version, as this is one of my least favorite Snow Miku versions, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for additional outfits, in case 2012 or 2014 end up being options. . .
