Volks JP at Magical Mirai 2013 Hatsune Miku Event

I just got the notice that they're finally going to ship out the last back of Mikus.

 

Orders will be shipped out in the order they have been received.

 

Wonder how long it'll take them to get to the end of line... since my order was right before pre-orders ended. Will I get Miku before April? Doubting it...

I ordered Nov 28th and I'm not expecting mine to ship until April. I will be surprised if she ships out before March ends.

 

I had expected that most of the orders were placed in September and those of us in the last batch wouldn't have to wait too long once that batch arrived, but it sounds like there may have been a lot of last minute orders.

I don't understand why so many collectors here think Volks dislikes the US or treats it poorly.

 

Miku orders from NA were pushed back to cater to the international customers, even to those that paid in full at the very beginning of the preorder period - that I think is what drove a lot of us to be a little upset. Then the whole issue of them selling Miku at the Asian doll conferences when they still hadn't fulfilled the orders placed over a year ago. Then the whole freight shipping, then the strike (not their fault.. but it's a cherry on the sundae). (then the unrelated Miku biz of no longer taking limited preorders, or lottery items from the Volks News books. all they're really good for is standard bodies and maybe clothes?)

 

But I'm glad the site closing was a sign they finally got Miku - hopefully that means they also got more supplies like more NS bodies too. I just wonder how long it will take them to go through all the orders since during Dolpa clothing releases they seem to take half a week just for that o__o

 

Finally though - Miku better impress for this big of a wait...XD

Well, when the estimated Miku ship date was still back in February, I emailed VolksUSA MULTIPLE times explaining that I would be out of the country in February and I needed them to delay my shipping OR change my shipping address. They NEVER replied. That's pretty crappy customer service, no matter how you look at it.

 

It's not that we think Volks dislikes the US, it's that we think VolksUSA has crap for customer service. Or, at least, I think they have crap for customer service.

Im going to go pick Miku up on friday or saturday im soo happy!!! Finally after 2 years of waiting!!

After looking at this, http://volksusa.com/event/201412preorder/index.html, the optional items are set to ship out in "Summer 2015", so those that ordered the optional items will have to wait until summer 2015 for their dolls?

No this sounds like they already have the shipment of the optional items in hand - so you're getting them early? I'd call their office to ask. It'd make no sense that they would make you wait til the Summer for Miku just for the hands/bodysuit/wig

That makes more sense. I hope they did get them early for those that did order them.

I didn't pre-order any of the items, so it doesn't affect me.

This is why I HAAAAAATE UPS. For the eastcoast folks I will have to wait until Monday. But still.. finally. FINALLY Miku is coming. XD

I received my shipping notice today.

I'm not sure if she'll be here next week, but she's on her way.

Canada post is being dumb and saying they have no info on my tracking number, but USPS site says she has already cleared customs in Canada!

She might be here on Monday.

My Mayu from VolksUsa didn't get to me as quickly as Miku did/might. O_o

Edit: Miku is here. Somewhere. I've had these clueless people taking over postal service this week and they're the reason tracking does not work. They left a card. I was home all day. I'll make an attempt to rescue her this evening.

Sorry for the double post, but I noticed some indents on my Miku. I have contacted Volks. For those of you also getting your Mikus, make sure to check to see if yours has this too. It might just be mine though? I have never had this problem before with my other dolls.

I see the indents on my Miku too, I didn't even notice them before now even though I put in Coolcat reinforcements. I should probably contact them as well but I'm not sure that I will given that this will be completely covered by her pantsu.

One of the indents on my Miku is not completely covered by her panties. If I wanted to put her in a bikini, the longest indent would be visible. :c

 

I find it interesting that mine isn't the only one that has these marks.

I'm sure she was just sitting in the box too long, and those are just from touching her waist/abdomen part. You can probably fix it with a hairdryer.

I used a hairdryer for a few minutes to heat the vinyl up, then laid her down flat to cool off as well as prevent her waist from touching those areas while the vinyl was warm. I wasn't sure how long to use the hairdryer on her. Should I run it longer than a few minutes?

 

Alongside using heat, I'm going to try to leave her laying flat for a few days and see if that helps too.

The indents are clearly visible when she's standing straight up or laying flat down so I doubt it's from her time in the box. I wonder if Volks might have shipped the boxes flat from Japan to save on freight and the Mikus outside in a sitting position or something like that.

AFAIK they pack them in their decorative boxes and ship them that way. There's no room for them to be in a sitting position in there. My Nanami head (Hiroki) has a mark like that on the soft headcap. I'm not sure what caused it, but it's never come out. Doesn't bother me since it's hidden, but I would be worried if it were a thigh.

I wonder if dents in the vinyl like that are from getting pulled from the molds. The vinyl's cast in metal molds, and it has to be pulled out at the right time, not too soft, not too firm... maybe they didn't do as good a job on some of them. I saw a short video on how Obitsu casts their vinyl dolls, I expect Volks has the same process. One of my other girls, her lower torso piece is slightly misshapen compared to how it should be, and I was thinking that might have something to do with it.

 

Finally!

 

I have to say... the original wig... was such a pain to put on. The Sebonzakura one was a bit better - either b/c I figured out how they want you to put it on, or it was just luck it was a smidge bigger?

 

I'm not a fan of her default clothing b/c it's made of that very delicate fake leather... seriously thinking that will crease very easily over time. But at least her Senbon outfit is cute - with socks that for once don't feel like they will stain - not sure about the wig and the gloves though... but at some point I just don't care, I want to enjoy her.

 

Am i the only one that thinks the Senbon eyes are a little too boring/dull? I had to swap them out for MOMOs defaults to give her overall contrast.

 

The Senbon boots are AWESOME. They feel very legit compared to other clothing set shoes - they got that bit right!

Hi. I was wondering if some people have had problems with original Miku's wig. If yes, is there any tip to be able to put it on her head? The one I saw is too tight I think, and I don't know how to do to make it bigger. Thank you very much in advance.
