SakuraDreams Posted October 12, 2014 Ah, I wasn't aware of the issues with the tape. Volks is asleep at the wheel quite a bit. It's just as well they ran out though, I don't use their bodysuits anymore since I discovered Cool Cat. Way more variety in forms and they feel better made for less money. Thanks for that. Cool Cat says that their bodysuits can stain after a week of usage. Is this true? Have you had any stains with their bodysuits? Thanks:) At home: DD Sakura Shinguji, DDS Yukiho Hagiwara, DD Asuna, DD Rina Ogata, DDS MOMO, DDS Ranko Kanzaki. Waiting for: Hatsune Miku Preordered: Ranka Lee Countdown to Hatsune Miku. Thanks:) I've never had stains with Cool Cat bodysuits, and I had one girl wearing a bodysuit under a very, very dark pair of blue jeans for like... three months? Maybe four? Unless you have an absolute stainmonster piece of clothing, I feel very safe with their bodysuits. ETA: I should mention, I have only normal fabric type bodysuits. I don't have any of the ones that use a "net" fabric. Doll Photos & Doll Jewelry Sales: Follow me on Instagram!

gaiaswill Posted October 12, 2014 I've only used normal fabric suits as well, not net fabric. Net fabric means the thinner material that you can see through, like old style Volks bodysuits. The darkest I've put to the test is Aoko's default outfit: https://www.volks.co.jp/en/dollfiedream/dd_mahoyo_aoko.html/ Dark brown tights with boots and dark brown top under a dress, for close and constant contact with her clothes for about 6 months. Aoko emerged unscathed. The suit itself was fairly stained–especially at the knees since she was sitting–and the stains in general resist washing. But it works just fine and the suit is still in service. I like that they have multiple shapes available. Swimsuit style with multiple neckline options, "space suit" cut, full suit with long sleeves (what I used for Aoko), suit up to chest only (old style volks suit), full suit sleeveless, etc.

youth Posted October 13, 2014 Anyone know why they made large size versions of the hands too? Just looking at them now & it makes the choices tougher with the extra options.
foo Posted October 13, 2014 It's just for looks, if you prefer them big. They're more expressive and can have more detail (the big paper/outspread hands look really different than the normal sized ones). But they are definitely big.
youth Posted October 13, 2014 I see. Found a thread about them for normal vers. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5799 I think I would prefer the normal hand but the sculpt of the large hands look better for example the V is wider & the index finger isn't pointing out in the large vers of the peace & sword grips hands. Nyx Posted October 14, 2014 Managed to snag a suit along with the alice outfit. I wasn't sure which hands to get so I didn't get any. Maybe if they go up again I'll pick up some.
Poofiemus Posted October 15, 2014 Regarding the Miku hands/suit, the page says that there's two batches for their shipment, December and spring. https://www.volks.co.jp/page_ex.jsp?CONTROLID=SC0020&BUSINESSID=InitDisp&category=DDG2014&version=en Anyone know if you can confirm which batch you're in? I'm presuming I'm unlucky enough to be in second since I ordered relatively late (was waffling), but knowing would be better than guessing. I also put a non-Miku-related item, the halter dress, in the same order, so I suppose that'll ship whenever the hands do. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser. DJStarstryker Posted October 15, 2014 uu volksss , test more your products until put on in the market !!! =.= now i need a bodysuit for Miku . Volks treats their DDs as giant figures, so I don't think they really care. I've been to several different Volks stores in Tokyo and you can see visible staining on some of their dolls. They dress them up, put them on display, and just keep 'em like that for a really long time. The worst visible staining I've seen is from Sanjie. She has a chain around her waist as part of her default outfit, and Volks' display Sanjie has pretty bad staining around where the chain had been touching. I've also seen staining on their original Saber, Rin Tohsaka, and other dolls. They're trying to improve, at least by lining things more often, putting out body suits, and attempting to make other products for stains (this tape and their expensive stain remover). But they still don't seem to test fabric or wigs for staining quality, so this will continue to be a problem. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
SakuraSylph Posted October 15, 2014 Anyone know if you can confirm which batch you're in? I'm presuming I'm unlucky enough to be in second since I ordered relatively late (was waffling), but knowing would be better than guessing. It depends on what the website page said when you placed your order. For the first two days, there was only the December delivery date written on the page. Sometime on the 3rd day they closed that out and made a batch 2 for Spring, which they then added to the page's text. If you ordered before that batch was closed out, I'm expecting that your order will go through in December. I don't know of a way to check after the fact, if it happens to be that you don't remember what was written on the page at the time of your order. I honestly wasn't paying attention to that, so I have no idea. ^^; I don't *think* I saw the second notice when I was ordering, but I'm not sure. Converting my order email to Japan time, it would have been about 3am on the third day. Maybe I squeaked in the first batch? In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
