Volks JP at Magical Mirai 2013 Hatsune Miku Event

I think I've caught the Vocaloid bug from you guys now. If I get Miku, I have to get Kaito and Gakupo too!

 

I caught the bug back in late 2008. I love lots and lots of their music and MMD videos and I love the characters themselves.

 

I would imagine, though, that if they would make a DD Miku she would be the only one...well, they also might produce Rin, Len, and Luka.

But I would be thrilled if they also made a DD Meiko, Neru, Haku, & a few others, and even the Utaloids such as Teto.

If ever there was a time for Volks to release a male DD, this would be it. Kaito or Len. Ohhh! Maybe we'll see another preorder for Len (DD brother?) and Rin DDS. I'll hopefully be preordering Miku and her Senbonzakura outfit. Unless...A Luka preorder is announced. In which case it'll be her.

 

But wow! The detail on Miku is astonishing. They even painted her nails! And her outfit looks so amazing! Ahhhh!

SakuraDreams, they will probably only produce the quantity pre-ordered, as the doll itself isn't scheduled to deliver for an entire year -- I don't think there will necessarily be "unsold" extras. There might be pre-ordered dolls that are never paid for, but no guarantee on what that quantity might be.

Hi Cauldroness, yes that's what I meant. Unpaid dolls. Even with a period of 2-3 days, we find people defaulting in making payment (or maybe because the period of time is too short...?). Anyhow with a lag period of almost a year, surely quite a few made to order dolls will also end up unpaid, as some people move on, change their hobby, lose interest, ? die or get sick, lose their job, relocate, etc. I am assuming that all the dollfies preordered will be manufactured and payment will only occur just before shipping.

I suspect there might be a high number of unpaid Xenosaga dolls, especially given how expensive Kos-Mos is, so I guess we'll find out pretty shortly what Volks does with the unpaid pre-orders. I would guess a shopping cart???

 

I'm glad we'll have a month to decide -- hopefully a month full of photos -- because I don't know if I really want Miku at this time or not.

Didn't they just send the unpaid Sabers to the physical Volks stores? I don't recall them ever being sold post-preorder period online at all.

 

Definitely getting Miku and whatever outfit sets they make for her, haven't been this exciting about a new character release in a while.

Haha, I am incredibly late to the Vocaloid party. I think they are so cute though! The boys will have to be resin or Obitsu though, but that is fin, because Miku will still need to be the star!

oooo~ I hope in the future they release extra Miku outfits and option wigs (like the pink and light blue versions). I can't wait to see closer pics of that Senbonzakura outfit, it's an outfit I wanted for a doll since I first saw it.

 

Dunno if you saw this, but I recall seeing this image of the senbonzakura outfit up close yesterday, but I can't recall where I found it exactly :U

 

EDIT: Personally I like the senbonzakura outfit , so I'll most likely get it for the main purpose of having one of my other girls wear it

Not really feeling it on the Senbonzakura outfit, personally. Think I'm mostly let down that the flowers are just silkscreened onto the sleeves, rather than . . .I dunno, embroidery? Appliques? Something with more texture. The boots look pretty cool, but not enough to sway me on the rest of it. Think maybe I'd've been happier if they'd done one of her more sci-fi outfits as an option instead, like Append, 2011 Racing, or VN02.

 

Do like how imperious her expression is though! Despite one eye being very slightly derped. And I can see her wig's got those two little tufts in back. Didn't notice that earlier. Yup, want her, but will be passing on Senbonzakura.

If I had a choice for extra outfits for Miku I think her MMD LAT model outfit or Neko outfit would look really cute. I first saw the Neko outfit in her music video "Pouty Waltz" (English translation of title) and she looks adorable in it

Well, the sakura petals are supposed to be flat, or at least that's how they're always drawn in the SBZ art style that is part military and part taisho era. Same thing with the ancient not-used-today kanji for "1" on the back of her shirt (that you can't see now). Since SBZ is a long-sleeved outfit, that's how the shoulder's typical 01 designator is still maintained!

 

(I will say that the above large photo is a great-to-have preview, but as you might expect it doesn't really do the colors proper justice).

I have no idea yet though if she and Agatha are going to hate each other, or be best friends forever. I'm also not sure which prospect is more frightening.

 

Perhaps it could depend on the project? There are some personalities that go from best friends to mortal enemies and back again in a flash, but that would definitely make for a really volatile (and not very fun) household. I'd love to see what Nanoha would do if Agatha and Miku got out of hand.

Kaito was surely on my list after Len. He was the Vocaloid that I seriously didn't want to like since I'm a totally die-hard Kiyoteru fan. It made me mad when people just ignored Kiyoteru because they said he sounded just like Kaito. Its true that at times they can sound very similar but they have distinctly different ranges if the person takes the time to tune them properly. So I tried to hate Kaito for a long time, but now he's just turned into the village idiot. Normally that's not nice to say, but its because he kept making me laugh through some really oddball videos and fan art, I'd probably still seriously hate him. What can I say, I have a soft spot for guys that can make me laugh. All I have to do is think of him with his blue hair and scarf and I start laughing.

 

And Gakupo... what is not to love about that voice and the futuristic samurai outfit?? Although whenever I think of him, the song Dancing Samurai with Big Al pops into my head. I've gotta have me a Big Al someday too...

Just because there has yet to be an official Volks male DD doesn't mean that will never change. Even so, hybrid DD males are possible and really aren't that hard. *Points to Tamayuki and the other four male DD she's working on* I personally think the more hybrid guys that people make with the Volks sculpts, it increases the possibility that Volks might take notice that it is something that people want. They have resin Super Dollfie boys so it isn't entirely unrealistic to hope for. Plus there are a lot of male Vocaloids, and even Crypton have Len and Kaito, both of which are very popular. I am fully aware that this doesn't promise anything but it does raise the possibility of male DD.

Miku is far more recognized and my guess is she will be overordered like the two Sabers. But you will likely have about a year to pay for Miku. And she's the first girl I can recall that will have decals on her as default, if I understood the description correctly.

i think it will be supplied as a seperate print. like with beato uniform. it saves time and not everybody likes to mark their dd body

I really love how Miku came out! For me she is very spot on as Miku from head to toe~ I think it's funny that the thing I'm most impressed with of all things is her wig Seen many pictures of custom Miku's and while I may not always agree with the face (personal preference & all) I never did see one whose hair I could look at and be like "Yup that is Miku's hair alright!" The color, length, and just the way it flares out at the ends makes me really happy

 

In this moment I'm sure I won't be pre-ordering Miku, but I will be pre-ordering (if it is available) the Senbonzakura Outfit Set since I really love the style & color.

I'm not a Vocaloid fan at ALL and honestly, I often get annoyed with people who are obsessed with it.

 

That being said... I will be putting her on pre-order.
