Dolpa Nagoya 5, upcoming New Girls

 

I don't think this will happen. There are still a lot of people who love hunting for their dream girls and Pre-Ordered Dollfies, are not really the same as limited ones.

 

And to tell the truth I personally love this hobby, because it it not impossible to get your dream girl. She might be more expensive on the after market, but that is only a question of the savings. If you want to, you can always get them On Y!J were a lot Yukihos and Chiyayas that were sold for 85k or less. Thats still a good price. (At least for me xD The people spent some time and money to get these girls as well, even if they did it to sell them afterwards xD)

 

(Its much worse when you collect/paint Modelkits. Sometimes there are Kits you only see once in a life time and never again, that would be horrible xD)

 

By the way: Lost Sakuya as well

 

well I'm aware that is not going to happen. I love this hobby, but I am not a fan of the fact that tons of people go in on a 'lottery' have such dismal results and therefore have to pay more than the original MRSP. Making them so limited is what causes that to happen.

 

85k is still 250$ more dollars added onto the original price of the doll (if for a moment we assume the yen to dollar ratio is about 100yen = 1$... which it isn't but you get the point). For people not living in Japan we have to pay for EMS shipping and even then deputy service charges -- and then if you're in a country that charges custom fees... add that too..

 

I love this hobby but that is the aspect I *don't* care for. I'm not poor by any means, but not rolling in green to say - 'oh, it's only 250-400$ more? Well, no big deal!' The people who spent time/money to get these girls with a desire to immediately flip them didn't do anything different than people who genuinely wanted to buy them from the start at their original price, so for them to scalp I don't see the need to reward that kind of behavior. (but hey that's just me - maybe I just don't want it bad enough as others ;D that's how supply/demand works)

 

and maybe that went OT, don't mind me. I just saved like hades with the intent to pay in a general ballpark, and the idea of having to shell out more is just annoying... XD

Chiyaya is on YAJ for buy it now at 73000yen which isn't much more and on bidding you can get her for about 70k, maybe less. When they get shipped in October there'll be a load up on YAJ and I'd say there might be some fairly decent prices.

Yukihos is a little more desired but again prices may change when she gets shipped and more appear on YAJ

 

Also if like me you pay high customs charges you can usually avoid them through a proxy whereas you'll probably have to pay them if direct from Volks

I'm wondering if they will offer them again after the 30th (thinking what if people don't pay for their lottery wins- next person in line gets it?). So I'm a little bit desperately hanging onto that thread of hope.. because I didn't win anything either...

anyone remember from experience how many days after the payment deadline that they open it up to a clickwar? Just hoping it's from Sept 1 forward.

 

Unless the other winners are keeping quiet or not on here -- it just seems like this one was dismal for anyone not getting Sakuya (maybe because she's a re-release and with an outfit that's cool but not what people wanted?)

Yeah, I'm really surprised how little of an amount of people got them...

Heh, yeah, I'll join the commiseration over here. My online account continued it's 100% losing streak, ever since it was created. I still put in entries just in case, but I can almost count on it being unproductive. (No Chihaya this way either).

 

That's not so bad though, since it only costs a few mouse clicks in order to enter. It's the going to in-person events in Japan (transportation), waiting in line (time, weather), and still losing out most of the time that is the soul-crushing / anger-inducing part of this hobby. Yoshinoya has excellent and cheap gyudon, and there's one right near Volks Tachikawa, and this is how I console myself when losing DDs at AEs: a tasty lunch on the way home!

 

Interestingly Volks IS doing a 2nd lottery draw for leftover-from-online-lottery dolls this time (something we've always wanted!), but only for SDG Charlotte & Lieselotte. I have no idea why the difference, why only them, or why only this AE. Volks has been doing a lot of stuff differently this AE.

I think it's because they know that their servers could ABSOLUTELY not handle a global clickwar for any remaining of these two.

Maybe thats a stupid questions, but I won a Lottery so I don't know. xD

 

I try to figure out when Kosmos and Momo could be released and some people said, that they probably won't do it during the after Event. (They have to ship three Dollfies and the Resin Dolls out, together with Kosmos and Momo sounds really like too much work :'O)

Japanese domestic shipments of im@s dolls will occur at end of September. Volks International says the im@s girls will ship out in October to overseas buyers.

Sakuya is coming home! Thank you SakuraSylph for letting me adopt her! My husband is thrilled- he loves her look and character
