Anyone have a resin/BJD head on an Obitsu 45-50cm?

as the title states...

 

i'm just wondering if anyone here has tried hybridizing resin heads with Obitsu bodies in the 45-50cm range. any head with around 7"-8" should probably be around the right scale, so most MSD resin doll heads should work in theory (i was thinking of Fairyland and Iplehouse JID heads or even Unoa heads, but since Unoa uses a headback system that might complicate things even more...?)

 

has anyone ever done this and have any photos? or at least have any anecdotes about how easy/hard/stupid it is? i think if you picked the right color resin and possibly did some body blushing, then matching the skintone wouldn't be too big of a deal, but there might be other problems...

 

i could actually do this myself, but i'm lazy and don't want to do a "test" headswap if someone has already done some research on this (or actually successfully done it) and has any results to post - i'd rather see and hear what other people think first before sitting down and taking apart my own dolls.

 

if nobody answers my thread or has any pics, i'll probably get around to doing a test by myself for science in the future, but it might be a while before i have the time to sit down and experiment since i suspect some modding of the head might be needed to make it attachable to the body or that there might be other complications i haven't thought of yet.

 

i know this is a kinda weird and obscure request but if anyone wants to give their 2c on it that would be great. thanks!

i'm not sure about that.

 

both my 2 Minifee and my Obitsu type dolls (i have 3x VMF50s and 1 Azone50, all of them use either the basic or slightly modified Obitsu 48-50cm bodies and heads) wear the same wig sizes. some of my Minifee clothing even fits some of my Obitsu dolls if the fabric is stretchy or cut to a certain pattern (in fact my Azone50 is wearing a dress for MNF in the pic shown below)

 

i took 2 quick cellphone snaps for comparison just now.

 

Pic #1 is my VMF50 Sayo sitting next to my MNF Karsh.

Pic #2 i am holding up my MNF Shushu to be on the same height as my Azone50 Kanojo who is currently standing on display...

 

 

 

proportionately their features match fairly well IMO. the only main difference being that Kanojo has larger, "anime" eyes with a smaller nose/mouth ratio and that Sayo has smaller, more "realistic" eyes than Karsh.

if anything Sayo's face appears slightly thinner than Karsh's face despite the head and wig size being almost identical.

 

what do you guys think? feel free to disagree with me on this if you think i'm making a bad judgment call here.

did some more comparisons on my own time and i think you might be right. main thing is i'm more accustomed to looking at the slender VMF type bodies which have smaller proportions. so i'm thinking if i did this at all it might have to be a resin head on a VMF body. i think 8-9 works fine on OBC50 but yeah. it also depends on facial proportions.

 

i was actually asking this partly on behalf of someone else, also, since it's not really something on my own doll to-do list but i kind of want to know if it would work for them.

thanks, i love her too! she's super unique. i actually have more pictures of her that i need to upload sometime (actual DSLR ones, not just cellphone snaps). there's an Azone50 thread in this forum, by the way, i think i posted 1 or 2 other pictures of her there a while back.
