Will you ever do a faceup process? They're so gorgeous it'd be a shame if we wouldn't be able to learn from you!

Aw thanks! I took a lot of Alice pictures since I was being picky, so I do have a quick pictorial history to share ^_^

 

I sketch out my faceup in watercolor pencil, and use water/magic eraser to make revisions. Then it's lightened with magic eraser and sealed. After that, a few layers of acrylic paint and pastels for blush as needed. I did about 3 layers of painting in this faceup, there was just a lot of fussing with eyebrows and eyelashes in the middle. Also her mouth came out too brown initially, so I had to redo that at the end. As you can see I take lots of pics along the way to check against my concept and make sure things are neat and symmetrical.

 

Special tip- see that red mini clamp in the first pic? I grab a shred of magic eraser in that and use it to erase mistakes and clean up smudges, it's my favorite faceup tool.

This type of thing is so rare and I'm glad you could do it for us! And such nice picture quality too!

My first DD is a DDH-03 custom named 'Leocadie', but since I did her faceup in 2011 it hasn't aged well. I decided to redo her with a new head in semi-white skin, and I think she came out pretty cute ^_^

They both look darling! She's still recognizable as Leo in her new incarnation.

 

DDH-03 was my first DD too, she's very appealing.

I did a custom Mariko for Innocentsake, she was a lot of fun to paint! Definitely want to repaint my Mariko someday~

 

It's been a while since my last faceup!

This time I did a custom DDH-07 for myself, aiming for a boyish/androgynous look ^_^

They have a NS head with closed eyes, I opened the eyes but didn't modify the shape. Body is DDIII with SS bust and large hands.

 

What a good looking boy/tomboy! The brows add to the androgynous look.

 

Are those your custom eyes? Love the color and style.

I finished making eyes for now, so time to tackle my faceup backlog~

This one I started ages ago, finally finished her today! Not sure about a name, maybe Estrella?

SWS DDH-01 with modded mouth/nose/eyes, wig is from F-Zero and outfit is Volks.

 

She's adorable! That dress is almost as cute as she is, too.

Apologies for replying to myself, but I finished another faceup! This time custom NS DDH-10 girl, such a cute sculpt ^_^

Your DDH-09 girl looks a little skeptical, I wouldn't try to put one past her! And your DDH-10 girl turned out so cute, it works well on the MDD body.
