Kurumi Tokisaki (Finished)

recently i have watched Date A Live and decided to someday in the future do a DD Kurumi ^^, as a little break from the Shana characters maybe. any suggestion on head etc?

 

 

Head: DDH-06

Body: DD M-Bust

Eyes: Kurumi eye set

clothes: Kurumi dress set

I'm always an advocate of the 06 head. This is a good one for her.

I think she's an M bust.

The eyed will have to be custom made for the clock texture, I believe.

how do i make custom eyes? the only way i can think of is printing the eye and cast it into clear resin, after gluing the print onto a white backdrop piece. but what i worry most about is to sew this dress, it will be a huge challenge ^^

oh, cool!. as long as they fit the DDH eye-holes it's perfect. that way i could print one clock eye and one red eye so that both are in the same style

You should be careful when you make the eyes by the way. Better cut everything and put them in the eye, then the dome to see how it looks before gluing anything >_<; There are several sizes so just get a size that'll fit (20-24) Good luck c:

I've gotten them from Pupa Paradise: http://pupapa.com/shop/index.php?cPath=27_71 Make sure you get the kind without the pupil so you have freedom with your print! I used these bases for both Agatha's eyes and Nanoha's, and they're great. Kind of addictive, as a matter of fact.

 

Do make sure your res is fairly high (300+ dpi; I prefer 600 so I can scale up for future eyes if I need to), as the lenses do magnify the print a bit. You also may want to give the prints a clear coat before gluing to make sure the ink doesn't run. (Also a good thing to do if you decide to add glitter or pearl powders to them! That way the stuff won't shed before you can get things glued together.) Lastly, when you glue the prints to the lenses, let it dry completely before putting them in the white base. Otherwise they'll take eons longer to dry and potentially end up kind of murky.

hmm.. Kurumi's something i've been pondering about for a bit also.

 

For the head, depending on what style you are after, the anime style thats a bit more sharp, or the original Tsunako art where a -04 wouldnt seem too out of place. the lips might be a little too lush for Kurumi, but I suppose with some face-up trickery that could be played down.

 

Edit, Though on second thaught the eyes might be a bit too big... might be biased towards the 04 since I've been considering that for a Neptune, another Tsunako made character.

 

the three-o-clock gold/yellow eye is a fun character feature, and hope you can make it work.

Finally getting on with this project, treating myself with Kurumi for xmas ^^

 

so, i ordered those eyes now. there was 24mm or 20mm that matched DD measures, they are cheap so i ordered one pair of each size. i have not yet decided for a head.

 

found this, due to lack of time i might actually go lazy and order this set. the model doll for this is a DDH-07 and i find it nice, should i go with a 07 or are 06 still the better choice?

also, can someone help me confirm what the set includes exactly, google translate says this:

 

"Content includes: hair, dress skirts, necklaces, hand sleeves, stockings, girdles, bows (excluding pocket watches and other props)"

 

Should i take "hair" as a wig included or should i take it as they meant the headband? must know if i need to order a seperate wig right away or not

she does look like an m bust, and the dress could be custom made if you find an experianced sewer

Kurumi is an L bust and the DDH-06 is closest match for her although DDH-05 is a good option and you could use DDH-07 if you prefered as well...

i just ordered a 06, made up my mind ^^. her current body are a M-Bust but i hope the dress fits well enough still, i might order a L-Bust for her later, having a rather tight budget at the moment.

But where you find red and yellow eyes , and wigs ?

 

I find the costume but whitout wigs

i found the eyes set on taobao, there was a set of clock eye and red eye. the wig is a black miku wig i found on ebay and styled up
