Wig care + WS Dollfie stains

Recommended Posts

Aile

Currently having a bit of trouble with a Miruya wig I have on Alter . It's starting to frizz up and I'm not exactly sure how wig care goes for her wig since it's curled . How do you guys tame the wigs? (I also considered straightening out her wig instead but I kind of like it as it is )

As for the second question: Unfortunately my Alter received numerous stains when I got her, particularly in her hands and feet. I would have treated her stains right away but I'm worried that because she's a white skin doll normal DD de-staining procedures might not work with her. To any owners with WS girls, do you know how to go about with this? I was told that using a lamp to help treat her stains was a bad idea because it would tan her skin, so what else should be done?

The way that I keep my wigs looking nice I learned from cosplayers. This works great for any kind of wig, including curled ones. The first step is optional but it seems to help make the rest easier, start by washing your wig with fabric softener. I say this is optional because if your wig is really bad, this'll take down the frizz a lot but there is the possibility of the styling coming out. It also makes it really soft and takes some of the artificial looking shine out of cheap wigs. In every case that I've washed my curled wigs it didn't hurt the curls at all but it's up to you. Lightly pat down with a towel and air dry your wig after washing. Next, work some Volks wig wax or store bought pomade onto your finger tips and run your fingers down each individual curl or strand. Repeat until your wig is no longer frizzy, paying special attention to the ends of the hair. The way to make sure your curls don't fall apart is to take a tiny bit of white school glue on your fingers and run it over the very ends of each curl. If you're feeling particularly brave, you can even try cutting out some of the frizzy ends with scissors or a straight razor.

I've actually been thinking of making a video about the subject showing how I do this process if my explanation doesn't make sense.
