Looks like you can have the lottery chance to win a blonde side pigtail wig and a brown male style wig.

I hope this means they'll also get some of the outfits later on in the year - the outfit the gal is wearing in the gold wig is so cute.. would go well paired with a girl in the striped bikini set : )

 

Do they happen to only allow one booklet per person? It's not mentioned on the page... If someone was in the Cali area that could easily go to the actual store and get a few copies then mail them out that would be great.

 

Maybe I'm just cheap as hades... but I don't like the idea of paying almost 5 times the cost of the original item in shipping... shipping for this little leaflet is 13.44 for UPS. That super light item would show up in a giant box with some bubble wrap for no reason. ((Why can't they be reasonable and offer USPS with insurance/tracking if they're so concerned about items being lost?? o__o))

Is it 9% for LA? If so that's really only 30cents. Ha, TN tax is more than that (though we have no income tax).

 

I tried to do a checkout with some of the books.. looks like the max they have right now is 22. but even then the shipping is 31$ o___O Why? It's a thin leaflet of a book right? This isn't like ordering 20 heavy dictionaries o_o

I think it's called Colorful Hoodie set. It will be available when the AE for Nagoya 5 hits Volks INC later this month. Or you can wait for the US release of it which probably won't be until November or December.

Agreed. I've tried to ask them on their FB page, and even asking the last time I made an order. For this little leaflet USPS firstclass is more than sufficient for domestic shipping. If they're worried with tracking/insurance - I'd be alright adding that on the bill, which insuring for 3$ would still be pretty low. I do very limited etsy sales, and you can print all the postage from paypal -- they already use Yahoo, using paypal shipping would be no problem for them. Plus it's leagues faster than UPS, and they deliver on Saturdays. /rantrant lol

Yup you can buy more than 1 copy, but all the entries will be in the name of the person who bought them. Here's what it says from past Volks New Lottery Items:

 

Each customer may enter for multiples of each item, but the final quantity you will be able to purchase will depend on the lottery result.

 

The shipping name must match with those persons who purchased "Volks News Vol.49" directly from Volks USA. If your shipping name does not match with the Volks News Vol.49 purchaser list, we will cancel your entire lottery entry.

For this little leaflet USPS firstclass is more than sufficient for domestic shipping. If they're worried with tracking/insurance - I'd be alright adding that on the bill, which insuring for 3$ would still be pretty low.

Actually Volks News is more substantial than you realize. It's a 120-page full-color magazine printed on thick paper, like a Dollfie Dream Fanbook just with no dustcover. VN54 weighs 12.8 ounces by itself, so when you put it in packaging it'd exceed the 13oz limit for USPS first class. But still, Priority Mail should be about $5.50, and there's no reason VolksUSA couldn't offer that. As of this week, Priority Mail even started including $50 insurance for free and more detailed tracking for free.

 

The two wigs are the Japanese VS/VIP exclusive items from this issue. It is possible to preorder an unlimited amount up through 8/31. I didn't think enough people would be interested in them to run a GO, but I could be wrong...

Yeah, there's a lot more to it than the scans you see online, since there's news about Volks' other hobby pursuits in addition to dollfies. The main point of the book is advertising, so Volks subsidizes most of the cost in order to keep the price low. (Or all of the cost if you have a Japanese points card, since you can get one copy for free.)

They're actually quite beautiful, mostly colored pages. I only have three of them, but I love them. I will probably get this one as well.

I have a few, to. They are pretty nice. Good additions to the collection.

 

Issue 54 has sold out, however... And I wanted those wigs...

I ended up being able to purchase the Girly Side Ponytail and I'm just curious who else got this wig I was going to give this wig to Seraphina, but a wig I got off the forums for Yuri ended up becoming hers. Yuri will get the Girly Side Ponytail since I still love her as a blonde just as much as I love her in Volks Peach Cream color~

I won the golden ponytail wig also, however I have no idea yet who will get it. I wonder when it will be available? I remember the other Moe/Natsuki special lottery wigs took almost a year to arrive. Hopefully its not that long!

I won both wigs, looking forward to trying them on my girl.

Finally got my notice to pick up the Girly Side Ponytail Wig from Volks Can't wait to try it on my girls!
