Aurea_Arleigh Posted August 5, 2013 (edited) First off sorry if this doesn't fit the area but I looked around and found no better place to park my first post. And please forgive me if I ramble or sound incoherent, I have thought processing errors from a bad car wreck many years back. I have been collecting figures for many years and have a few 1/6 Anime Azone and a Megahouse Meer. When it comes to Dollfie I have very low knowledge other then what I have read on posts here and on other forums. I know for sure I am staying away from resins currently and trying to stick with vinyl since I have had some experience with my smaller Obitsu powered ladies. I have been debating while saving recently whether I should plunge into the 50cm Obitsu or the Dollfie. I am aiming to purchase either Yukino, Miko, Rena dollfie or Mizuki Obitsu 50cm and work around the original body to make my own maiden. Which of these 4 dolls would need less maintenance and overall worth the money? I will put myself and my future maiden in your care. Thanks much Edited August 6, 2013 by Guest
SakuraSylph Posted August 5, 2013 Of the three standard Dollfie Dreams you're considering, your best bet to start with is going to be Yukino. She's DD3 M-bust, and thus looks good in most DD outfits that are made as well as outfits from the Super Dollfie line of resins. Thus, for a first doll, you want the one that is most versatile. MDD Rena is probably the second choice, since there are lots of cute mini-size outfits and they can share with MSD. Downside is there are fewer alternate heads that look good on the MDD body (for future use purposes). DDdy Miiko is going to be your last choice for a first doll IMO. Specifically because you have pretty limited outfit choices for the Dynamite-type body -- it's exaggerated enough that it just won't fit into most clothes. Miiko is cute, but save this type for later. SakuraSylph
Bloodflower Posted August 5, 2013 Finding any of the fullset Obitsu girls on the internet is kinda hard. They are usually sold body and head only with occasionally original wig and eyes. Mizuki are one of the easier ones to find, but you probably have to go through a proxy since most stores that sells oversea are usually more focused on DDs(because they sell more and exist in bigger quantities) or buy her in a physical japanese store. But I highly recommend the Obitsu50 line. Their bodies are easy to pose and if you're not used to big dolls they're a good size to begin with(since they are smaller than DDs). They are also a cheaper option since extra parts(like hands) and such are much cheaper to buy. Clothes can be a bit iffy to find, but both Obitsu and their re-sellers(for example Azone and Parabox) makes plenty of clothes for them. Corellia(DD Marya), Sirius(DDS Sirius), Luka(DDdy OOB N-04), Alessa(DDdy Sakura Honya Head) Genma(Azone Kanojo)

Having this extra information will make my decision a little easier, DD wise it is good to know ahead of time about clothing issues with Miko. I think she has a very great looking head sculpt along with their factory faceup and eyes. I do agree her bust is a bit over exaggerated which led me to look at the other girls originally. I would say originally on new dolls I was Miko or Obitsu Mizuki>Yukino>Rena. Now just to battle the Mizuki obitsu vs DD. Though I feel I can only afford 1 big doll for my collection in this lifetime . Wouldn't be so bad if dolls were more sanely priced like second hand shinki. Thanks again

A friend of mine found a new full set Mizuki wig, dress, for about half to two thirds of what the dollfie might end up at before any import taxes and shipping fees. So I have been pondering Mizuki versus a new DD. Oh the choices....as my poor piggybank cries
