DivinitaAria Posted July 17, 2011 Basically a discussion thread! What are you currently playing? Any exciting releases? Want game suggestions? Reviews? Favorites? - I started playing Shining Force EXA again....and I swear I will never beat this game. Major difficulty! I had to restart it (again) because the Geo Fortress went under attack, I saved over my original game file, I can't beat the enemies, so I got stuck and had to restart. I restarted my Persona 3 FES game a while ago and stopped playing for a while, I want to pick up on it again. I bought a Persona 3 bundle including art book and OST from Sears but I don't think I'm going to open it, maybe I'll sell it one day. Persona 4 is such an awesome game I suggest it to anyone. I've been playing a bunch of RPGs for cosplay ideas. My friend wants us to do Eternal Sonata, so if we go through with it, I may be Serenade. Rise - Rise // Rise #2 - Rise // Ritsuko - 2B // Momo - M.O.M.O. // Nayuki -Mikuru // Romi - 09 // Makoto - Sailor Jupiter // Mikasa - DD07 (WIP) Waiting on: DDH-25 for custom Akechi 🥰
Galvatim Posted July 17, 2011 I was playing Dragon Age Origins, I just beat the Awakening, Witch Hunt, and Golems of whatever expansions with my city elf character, and started a new game with the Dalish elf origin. But I've taken a break the past few nights to watch Angel Beats! on Blu-ray. (9 episodes on one disc? I like to use my PS3 for games sometimes, Sentai!) The Persona games are great! I love playing RPGs in general, some of my favorites are Shining Force, Final Fantasy VII, and Oblivion. I'm looking forward to Skyrim this November. Otherwise, I like adventure/survival horror games like classic Resident Evil, and Fatal Frame. Oh, D2 on Sega Dreamcast! Dreamcast has a ton of cool, obscure games! I need to find a copy of the Ring video game for DC someday, I had one, but it glitched after playing for 10 minutes...
maksst Posted July 17, 2011 Yay! My topic! So~! I play in Aion, it is awesome MMORPG game, where you have two races, black asmodians and white elyoses (pretty racism... xD). Game has really nice graphic and a lot of instances, sets, events etc. Here are some of my screens which I take (game is supporting tweeter): League of Legends, well, this game can addict you. It is made on the basis of DoTa engine. It's good game Alice: Madness Returns, this is my fav. of this year You play as alice in a bit diffrent wonderland... I have this game on my PS3, and I am able to play on nightmare mode, so game is not diffcult. But worth to play! The next is (also on PS3) Rorona series. You play as Rorolina Frixell and by the long name, people call her simply Rorona. She is under the care of the local alchemist, Astrid. Rorona's and Astrid's life was happy and carefree, until a knight Sterkenburg Arland knocked on the door , with the bad news. Alchemical workshop will be closed, if they won't complete 12 tasks, given by the kingdom itself. Game is really funny and it has 3 parts (just 1st is in english, 2nd in english will be in Q3 2011). I have different tastes of a games... I like RPG, FPS (CoD ) or even racing games, so I can enjoy all titles!
Talolili Posted July 17, 2011 I like Survival and action games and recently I just finished Dead Space 2. It was pretty fun and even offered up an online mode where you can play as the main enemies in the game. I need to start preordering some games because I can't wait for the new Silent Hill, Saints Row and Tomb Raider games.
PlasticFantastic Posted July 21, 2011 I was playing L.A. Noire until we had to return the rental, now I'll have to go buy it so I can continue to pretend to be a detective in the 50's! I also have been playing Professor Layton and the Curious Village. I love the puzzles! Games I haven't played yet but intend to since I own them: Okamiden, and Persona 3 Portable Games I started playing and need to finish: Pokemon White and Heavenly Sword. I'm sure there are more but these are the two that pop out at me the most. Please visit my YouTube channel for helpful DD tips, tutorials, and reviews! di-chan123 Posted July 21, 2011 Woo! Video games! My favourites are most of the mario games (Mario 64 will always be my favourite!) But mostly the RPGs I like most, especially Kingdom Hearts series and FF9. I've played two of the pokemon games (diamond and white) but I usually only play the main story, once the whole "go collect the other pokemon" comes, I stop. There's just too many! Currently I've been playing Kingdom Hearts: Birth by sleep for the PSP and after that I will try to play FF7. My boyfriend is trying to get me to play League of Legends....but I'm not a fan of the whole MMORPG games ^^;

Noire and I LOVE the Professor Layton games (already finished Curious Village). Also playing Lego Harry Potter, Battlefield: Bad Company... and my brother is going to loan me the Alice in Wonderland game when he's done with it.
Pupi Posted July 21, 2011 I'm playing Persona 3 FES too** I'm still in July and I have just beaten The Hierophant and The Lovers... I'm such a newbe... I want Shinjiro in the team ;_; I'm trying to master Plants vs Zombies, one of the most addicting game ever @_@ I play it on my mom's iPhone! Another awesome game I'm playing in coop mode with my boyfriend is Portal 2: the coop mode is more difficult than the normal campaign mode but we have so much fun with P-Body and Atlas XD My plans for this summer: - Lost Odissey - Pokémon Soul Silver (need to buy ><) - Magna Carta 2 (need to master) - Star Ocean 4 (need to borrow it from my mom :p) - Marvel vs Capcom 3 for XBox360 (need to buy) - Monster Hunter Freedom United for PSP (need to buy) - Monster Hunter Tri for Wii (need to buy) - Valchirie Profile 2: Silmeria for PS2 (I have to restart it from the beginning... I'm a Lezard fangirl ) - Infinite Undiscovery for XBox360 - Tales of Symphonia 2 for Wii... The first one for GameCube is my favourite geme EVER... This sequel is really horrible (the new main characters are stupid and they doesn't have "dreams" or wishes for the future, a terrible lack of charm...) if you compare it with the original ToS... I have to play it to make a rewiew for my boyfriend site about games... TT_TT Generically I love J-RPGs (even if here there just a few of the ones published in Japan >_>), strategic/rpg games, fighting games and some puzzle games (I agree with you all, Layton is simply AWESOME)! enthusiast pasta girl - she/her - power bi Mini Mode Lab

Averis Posted July 22, 2011 I'm a bit of an MMO addict. I've played nearly every major MMOs since Anarchy Online. Right now, I'm not really playing anything except a little Star Trek Online since I have a lifetime sub and Test Drive Unlimited 2. I recently cancelled my WoW account (again). A couple of my friends and I are going to be playing Star Wars The Old Republic when that comes out. I'm also planning to play Tera and Guild Wars 2. As for single player games, I'm looking forward to Elder Scrolls Skyrim and Mass Effect 3. I don't play many console games, but I do have a PS3 and 360. I like to play open world games like GTA and LA Noire on those systems and sometimes a good RPG. I'm also a Persona fan!
Iachion Posted July 23, 2011 Awesome topic! I play a little bit of everything, mostly FPSs, RPGs, and MMOs but I'm fan of all genres, however I tend to play alot of RPGs. I love the Tales series, FF series, Pokemon, Layton, and of course SMT and Persona! I'm currently playing though The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky which I've been waiting to play for a long, long time but no publisher was willing to localize it. So props to Xseed for bringing it over! And I highly recommend picking it up if you own a PSP, the story is really awesome! And I also play Guild Wars quite a bit still. The developers have decided to make a bunch of new content to bridge the gap between it and the Guild Wars 2 called "Guild Wars:Beyond", which has been pretty fun and challenging at the same time. And on top of all that they have this thing where you can earn stuff for GW2 which is very time consuming and expensive, I'm only halfway done myself. So if your ex-Guild Wars player and haven't played in awhile I defiantly suggest you come back and try some of the new content. I'm looking forward to playing: Catherine, Atelier Totori, Skyrim, Persona 2, Uncharted 3, Guild Wars 2, and Tales of Graces F. Also if you guys are interested there is this site called the Backloggery (Link) which is alot like My Anime List but for games. So it's useful if you want to keep track of your collection. Chuplayer Posted July 24, 2011 I've been playing Tekken Tag Tournament on MAME recently. I wanted the PS2 version, but since GameStop scrapped the cases of cheaper PS2 games, I haven't been able to find it. It's listed as in-stock on the website in a couple of stores around me, but nobody can find them. I imagine they were stolen because they just keep the discs in paper sleeves on the counter. Anyway, it's been a long time since I last played Tekken 3, but I'm getting the hang of it, I think. TTT is pretty much T3 with a tag function, it seems. Some of the weird characters in Tekken irk me, though. Like the anthropomorphic lion or tiger and the robot. It's one thing if the robot was like a cyborg or something, but this thing's just a robot that fights. Weird.

I used to play MMO's, but they take too much time and i don't like grinding for things. I like games with a good story or something i can pick up quickly and play in short bursts. I also hardly touch the consoles (i have a PS3 and Wii), i prefer PC games and wish that Devs make more games for the PC. I just hate it when they do a poor job on porting a game to PC, such as really dumb down interfaces and really poor textures. I'm also looking forward to Skyrim and Mass Effect 3, as well as Battlefield 3, and maybe Deux EX

All fully voiced and animated quest stories and such. It should be like Mass Effect as an MMO.
Chuplayer Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) Hopefully somebody here who is into import games can help me out. I just nabbed this a few hours ago: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190561605157&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:1123 My only concern right now is getting a power supply to work with it. The listing says it comes with a Japanese 100VAC power supply. I've seen a pic of the back of the console that says 9V right next to the DC input, but I don't know the current the system requires. I do have a spare US Atari Jaguar power supply. It's 9VDC at 1.2A. I have no idea if the current rating is sufficient and if the connector will match the Duo-R's DC input, though. (And I'll be mindful of center positive/negative, too. If need be, I will cut the cord and rearrange it so the polarity is correct.) Does anybody have any experience from their own Japanese Duo-R usage in the USA? I'd really like to avoid getting a 120VAC/100VAC step down transformer. EDIT: I just got a very nice email from the seller in Japan. At the end, it says that the system can take a Genesis 2 power supply. I have one of those, so I'm all set. The range of voltages is quite large, so either the system has a big tolerance range, or there is an internal voltage regulator. The Genesis power supply is 10VDC at 850mA. That's barely over the 800mA minimum outlined below, but whatever. However, I am a little concerned. My multimeter was reading it as 13VDC. It's not regulated. But it's probably okay. The voltage will probably drop with current draw, and my Genesis 2 has been fine for nearly 15 years. Anyway, here's the email. Refer 1: How to change region mode between PC Engine and TurboGrafx-16. Refer 2: Safe suspend for CD-ROM gaming. Refer 3: How to solve for CD-ROM drive unit issue. http://homepage3.nifty.com/moremaco/slv.htm Refer 4: As you see, this console has been fine work in Japan. But, when console arrived oversea, somehow there is the case that does not turn power by unknown origin. In this case, please try it with following some AC adapters. --- SEGA (Genesis2, MegaDrive2, CDX) --- SONY (PSone, PS2 slim). --- Other products (Voltage between about DC7V and DC10V. An electric current above 800mA.) -doujindance EDIT 2: I got the console today. It came with a 100-240VAC universal power supply, so I dodged that bullet. The output is 10VDC, but it will probably be okay in the long run. Still, I'll probably change it out with a 9VDC power supply eventually. I made a post about it in the off topic dolls topic. AerisAquata Posted August 4, 2011 I'm not really playing anything right now. I'll pick up my copy of Dissidia from time to time, and I still need to beat the Elite Four in Pokemon White.
Chuplayer Posted August 14, 2011 So I've been playing my PC Engine Duo-R a lot lately. Final Lap Twin is really good. The career mode is very challenging. I made it through the 20-race mode and got second place in points. It's sometimes hard to finish in the top 6 in individual races, though, and if you don't do that, it's game over. Dragon Spirit is rather meh, I think. But I needed it to test Japanese HuCards. Last Alert for the CD is good fun, but I wish there were selectable difficulty levels. I already beat it twice, and I'm out of stuff to do.
Chuplayer Posted August 28, 2011 So I finally got the old Counter-Strike games thanks to the recent Steam sale. I already had CS: Source, so I got the CS1 Anthology and Day of Defeat: Source to complete my Counter-Strike collection. The last time I played CS seriously was in early 2005 when I played it for free via Six-Steam. Even though I have had CS:S for about a year, I haven't played it much. I even checked out the beta a little bit, but only for a little. So I decided to install CS: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes first. It contains a single player campaign sort of mode. I figured I'd use that to hone my skills before trying to play online with CS 1.6. So far it seems quite goofy. I also got the new Deus Ex game. I played about 15 minutes of the first game and couldn't stand it, but I figured I'd give this new one a shot because Eidos supposedly gave the PC version the lead platform treatment. There are a few bits of consolization, but it's still really good as a PC game. The game in itself is slow, but I think it's interesting. I'm certainly going to keep playing. Finally, I got an affordable professionally-printed bootleg of Sapphire, the PC Engine CD Arcade Card masterpiece. I actually can't play it on my PC Engine Duo-R because I don't have an Arcade Card yet, but I have played it on the Magic Engine emulator. It's a blast! It's a shame there are only 5 levels, but for $35, it's still a worthwhile purchase.
