Shoes? Are shoes really that important? We just go barefoot around here because I forget about shoes and keep getting more dolls... Yuriko might care, but it would require work, cut into her sweets fund, then into her anime and gaming time. I have made Tama a pair of socks and some slippers. Maybe that's what my kids will get for Christmas is fuzzy slippers since last year they got hats.

A good story about Sprout and her love of shoes is always good! I love how Hitomi is in on it. She'll have a good mentor in sprout. I know I've said it before, but Kino is so adorable in her maid outfit! Great story as always!

I'll make sure Sprout NEVER knows you haven't gotten shoes for your girls.... otherwise she'd be flying off the handle about making a charity for shoeless dollfies. And the shoe fund is FAR down the list of things we spend money on here. Cookies, sweets and beer are what I have to make sure never run out! LOL Even tho I now have two shoe groupies here, I think they can handle only getting the occasional shoe here and there.

SK is right, Manami is who drinks most of the beer here. Ryomou and Mai also drink some and now so does Mari and Tsubaki but not nearly as much as Her Highness Manami does. But bills DO come first with cookies/beer being secondary. I've already explained many times to the girls that without the house, electricity and water, none of the beer will stay cold and none of the cookies will a place to be stored. I think the mental images of those things being gone scared them more than not having a house to live in.

Thank you! I think Hitomi likes Sprout and is emulating her too. She hasn't gotten the attitude that Sprout has yet so I'm thankful of that. And thanks about the shoes, I got those at a local doll meet. I'm the "Volks Whore" around here locally so anytime someone has something Volks, it's offered to me first.

It all boils down to what the girls see as important and how that relates to them and their day to day lives. Even tho most of my girls aren't children, things sometimes need to be explained on a child-like level so they understand what I mean. So breaking things down like I did above is the easiest way for me to make my point and not look like a jerk.

All of this is just cracking me up!! I mean, I know they aren't real, but they are just so real!! That woman/child thing also seems to be one of the traits my girls are showing me so its interesting to know that there are other girls out there who show this same thing...5 years old going on 55 at times!! You just can't help but love them for who they are and each one is so unique in character. It amazes me! At least you have found a way to reason with your girls. I'm still working on that part! (They are very mad at me right now because we are putting down a new floor in our hallway but they want me to be making them some new outfits instead! (They have their hearts set on hoodies before the fall weather comes!)

Heh, the MDD girls are a handful for almost ALL my other girls. But Sprout seems to like them quite a bit so she puts up with their hijinks.

It's so awesome to see Sprout bonding with the little ones and it's wonderful that she can pass on her love of shoes. As SK said, shoes aren't a big priority around our house, but Yuriko does love the one pair she has, and rarely takes them off.

 

I'm glad that Sprout finally got her own pair, though, after all that teasing. Even though I knew you could never be that mean to her, and was sure you had some stashed away somewhere, I was starting to feel bad for her for a while, there.

Thanks! Even tho Sprout seems like a loner at times, she really enjoys being with her sisters, especially the little ones. I think she has a real soft spot for them. As for shoes here, my girls like dressing up so I kind of *have* to have quite a few shoes for them to wear. And having 22 of them here means I need at least that many pairs. Not that they all wear shoes at the same time, most of them wear socks or go barefoot around the house.

Yeah, it seems I went a little far this time with the teasing. But I have to have a little fun now and then right?
