VolksUSA is fixing their exchange rate!

VolksUSA is finally fixing their exchange rate to better match the current one! I'm glad that they're finally fixing it since the high exchange rate has been stopping me from buying from them.

Here's what they said in their blog:

"Hi everyone.

 

You may have seen it announced on our Event Blog, but both our web store and Tenshi no Sumika in Los Angeles will be closed for a brief period coming up soon.

 

Since it has been stable for a few months now, we finally got the go ahead to change all of our prices to better reflect the current exchange rate. We are closing up shop so that we can focus on doing that.

 

The web store will be closed from Tuesday, August 27th at 11AM until Saturday, August 31st at 11AM. Any orders placed up to that point on Tuesday will be processed and shipped. Orders placed once the website reopens will be processed beginning on Wednesday, September 4th as we are closed that Monday and Tuesday for the Labor Day holiday.

 

Tenshi no Sumika in Los Angeles will be closed on August 31st and September 1st. We will reopen the following weekend (September 7th and 8th.)

When I read the news in the blog I was very excited! I'm glad the price increases didn't last long. Maybe I can finally go after the Moe Bear Set when the price changes happen.

I'm really excited that they're doing this too. I don't really see why they have to close for almost a week, but I'll take what I can get.

 

I will probably put in an order shortly after this!

I'd wondered with Sakuya's price if that was what they had already did. So glad they'll be going through and updating things. Yaaaaaaay XD

I'd be willing to bet if they had that option, the price will remain unchanged. It would be way too much hassle for the company to try to issue refunds or handle price reduction on some buyers and not all.

Bought a few things from Volks USA today. Looks like prices were dropped by 20% roughly.

Now this has happened would anyone consider a group order?

Chinti, if you don't mind- they have the white DDS upper torso frame.

Since no one can see it on the inside, I don't think it really matters...

I know what VolksUSA really needs to do... start excepting PayPal. It'd be nice to know why they don't because when shops don't except PayPal it stops me from purchasing from them... I'm weird...

I agree, I wish they accepted paypal too. But remember, paypal charges the seller fees, maybe they don't want to lose money through that.

Paypal fees are about the same as credit card merchant fees, which Volks already pays. So it wouldn't cost them extra money per transaction to accept PayPal instead of credit cards. However, they may have something special on the back end for doing their accounting books through Yahoo's store system, so they want all transactions to go through that.. Just guessing on that one as a possible reason.

I forgot that Volks Int charges a Paypal fee and it was pretty hefty too for my purchase...

So maybe it would be the same if Volks USA started to accept Paypal.

Yes! I noticed this last time I ordered, although they describe that fee rather vaguely, it's not added to CC purchases.

It's worthwhile to get a credit card set up for international purchases, so it doesn't get held/declined and also for a more favorable exchange rate without the fees.

Raven and I have a reloadable credit card. It can be used like any credit card, but the funds have to be added before you can buy anything. For us its really great because we have the bonus of buying normally online without going into debt over it. We've been doing this for a few years now and just love it. They are common enough where we are at that we can get them at the grocery store or even 7-11.
