A late birthday for Yukino :(

Due to unforeseen work issues these past few weeks, I have totally forgotten to give my dear Yukino a proper two year anniversary photo montage. I feel really bad that I am only now remembering to get this done for her since she came to me on 7-7-11 and she's one of my favorite girls.

 

She came to me thru an Ebay auction that DefectiveAngel shared with me two years ago. As soon as I saw her, she spoke to me and I knew I had to have her. She arrived in a big box labeled "Free Kitteh" and I knew I was in for some fun once I opened the box up....

She had some stains on her when she arrived but we got rid of those with some Oxy10 treatments. During this time, Rei got a little attached to her, as did the other girls.

She had her original eyes with her but not her default wig. She had this short brown one instead.

She went thru a few eye swaps until we settled on these wonderful blue eyes.

At this time she also made it known she liked kitties quite a bit and enjoyed cosplaying as one.

Yukino really seems to be a lonely and quiet girl but she's really great with her sisters. But sometimes she enjoys some alone time and looks deep in thought. I took her to an abandoned house nearby and she really did a great job as my model.

Even tho Yukino is one of Volks default character girls, she's just so sweet and playful, I can't get over how much I adore her. I'm happy I could adopt her and I hope I have many more years of enjoying her playfulness.

Both of those perspectives and framing are ones I use quite a lot in my photography. Nice work!

These are some really great shots of Yukino, Billy. You really know how to pose and dress all of your girls, they look very lifelike. And there's no reason to feel bad about the belated montage, I hardly ever photograph my dolls, not to mention celebrate their birthdays. They're probably very angry with me for that... eep!

I always like reading your posts where you go back and show memories of your dolls. I think it's always so cool to see how you changed them over time, and how you finally got them to their right "character" (like with picking eyes and wigs, etc.)

 

Even though it was a late birthday, I'm sure she didn't mind... I think everyone knows how much you spoil your girls. xD! You always make them look very nice and you seem to love them all so much. Like Talolili, I don't get to take photos very often... Or mention their birthday at all. xD!

 

I think your Yukino is just so cute, even though she is a Volks regular character, yours has a lot of personality, and with the way you photograph her I always know she is yours.

Its really fascinating to me to see how Yukino changes as you change her wigs and eyes over time until you 'get it right' for her. It seems that her personality develops a bit more with each change! I love the blue eyes!! I don't know much about the different kinds of eyes available but I've recently been considering that Grechen's eyes just are not 'right' for her and seeing the progression of Yukino is encouraging me to be brave and maybe buy some blue eyes for her to try them out! Happy Birthday, Yukino, and thanks for giving me some courage !

Thank you very much! I'm happy to hear you like my photos. And I'm flattered you called those two photos "art". I try very hard to do my best with pictures of my girls and sometimes I get lucky with a few. I wish I was better tho.... I know I can always improve.

Thanks so much! I'm glad to hear my girls look lifelike with their posing. I do try hard for natural looks from them so knowing it's working makes me happy. I know I shouldn't feel bad but I like to give my girls attention on or around their arrival dates because I think I should. But you're right, she was fine with it since I finally made this post.

Thank you very much! It makes me glad to hear you enjoy seeing these retrospective posts of my girls. I really like doing them because I get to go back and see how they've changed too. And that means a lot to me to hear you say you can always tell my Yukino in pics and that it shows that I love my girls! I really do love my girls and it's fun photographing them.

Thanks a lot! I like how small changes can really make big differences too. I'm glad you like Yukino's blue eyes, I knew as soon as I put them in her that these were *the ones*. And you SHOULD try different eyes in your Grechen! It can't hurt to try a few types out to see how they work. If you don't like them you can always sell them.

Hee hee, thanks! Rei saw Yoko go thru stain treatments when she first arrived so she knew how not fun they are and felt that she should be there for Yukino too. Yukino's changes are kind of subtle other than her eyes but I feel they made a huge difference in how she turned out. And she did indeed seem very happy when I showed her this post, she liked reading the comments!
