Which body stocking to buy?

I've been looking at Coolcat's website and whilst they do have a cloth information section, I'm still confused. I hope that someone can help me with my questions.

 

- It states that some body stockings have thin cloth. Will this protect my doll from staining or should I always look for thick clothed ones?

 

- I'm considering buying a skin-coloured shorts-type body stocking, how can I tell which body stockings have thin or thick cloth?

 

- What is the difference between skin net and clear net?

 

- It seems a lot of the body stockings are out of stock. Do they frequently restock?

I had gotten some advice when I asked about body stockings as well, apparently the thicker the cloth the more protection. So maybe that is the way to good, I'm thinking about getting different styles for different outfits since I'm scared to death of staining and I don't even have my doll yet!!!

Depends on what kinds of outfit your doll will be wearing. If it's full clothed, any body stocking will be fine, but if there's any exposed skin above the waist, I would advise none.

 

Volks':

 

CoolCat's

 

The Volks one has a distinct cuff at the end of the sleeves and neck, so unless your outfit's top is a long-sleeved turtleneck sweater, it'll look unnatural (legs look fine though). The CoolCat's fabric weave looks pretty bad overall, so you definitely don't want any open skin with that on.

 

 

Here's a side-by-side. More pics can be found here. If you absolutely want a body stocking, I'd recommend sticking with the Volks one as the material looks and stretches better.

Hmmm volks one seems like a good idea. Is it good to get the ones that look like a mini dress for them,if they are wearing a dress especially or is it still a staining risk?

So far, my girl only has a lolita dress with short sleeves, a T-shirt and a pair of lousy-fitting jeans. I think that most of her clothes will have short-sleeves. That's why I think the short-sleeved body stockings look interesting. Tho it seems the only ones in stock are quite thin :-/

i have to disagree. the coolcat ones depend on which thickness you got. mine has a gut finish and stretchiness.

Yes, my Coolcat ones are a thicker variety and they don't have that textured look. One of my girls wore a black dress and black tight fitting socks for months with a Coolcat body stocking under it. Dye tranferred to the feet of the stocking, but not through onto her skin.

if i may ask, which one did you get for your doll? since cool cat has so many and its hard to know which to get, it might be easier to ask someone who has one already

I have to respectfully disagree with Keripo. I absolutely love my Cool Cat stockings. They stretch well, they look great, and the weave looks great.

 

I have the following:

Close-Fitting Clothing DDPN - 32 # Pale Skin, which is probably my favorite for full-body coverage (I have two of these), I find them to NOT be very noticeable

Close-Fitting Clothing DDPN - 10 # Pale Blue, which I use as part of a look (throw a tank top or dress over and it looks like an undershirt)

Tight Clothing DDPS - 55 # White and Tight Clothing DDPY - 08N # Thin White (x2), which are probably my favorites, I use them more than anything else because my girls tend to wear pants (especially jeans)

Stocking W/Shorts - Tight Clothing DDPY - 12N # Skin, which is nice for under skirts and shorts

 

So far I've never had a girl stain through any of my Cool Cat stockings, including one who has been wearing daaark denim for MONTHS. Anything with just a color ("White" or "Skin" for example) will be fairly thick, obviously "Thin White" will be a little less thick, and "Net" will be the thinnest of all. I personally avoid all the "Net" versions.

 

Oh, and Cool Cat does restock with varying frequency, especially the Skin and White versions.

They actually have a visual guide now of all the different cloth they use for skin colors or white.

Sorry to bump this thread but for those who own the 【DDPN-33】Close-Fitting Clothing（S3）# Pale Skin body stocking, is it normal that there is no zipper at the back?

 

I only have one other full-sized body stocking and it surprised me that this one doesn't have a zipper.

What does it have then..?

The product page states that it should have one, so I think you should contact them about it, as it sounds like a manufacturing error.

It has nothing in the back as you can see in the photo.

 

 

I'm not sure if it's normal. Looking at the photos on Cool Cat, I realize that it doesn't show a zipper but it doesn't make sense that it wouldn't have one.

Then have you checked the chart on coolcat? Does it state that the stocking will have a zipper? Some of them do not, you see.
