SisterKyoya Posted September 4, 2013 I have to say I'm doing a happy dance. Ralph is well on his way of being done, now I just have to get the paint on... Even though I've been thinking about him for months its so exciting to see his actual face! Even Raven seems to be lovin' the little weirdo! ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

SisterKyoya Posted September 4, 2013 Thank you! Hopefully the painting will be done in a couple of days and he will be almost finished. He may be the first one that I'd consider a fir wig for, but I honestly haven't even looked yet. I really love it when I keep staring at one of my own pictures. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

Marq V Posted September 4, 2013 That's a fun looking face. The style also reminds me a bit of the characters from Charles M. Schulz Peanuts comic. Nice work Galfriends at home: DD: Yoko, Yui, & Briana Rei Resin: Tatiana, Leda, Miyoi, Tana,... & Gena<
Bouncing_Tigger Posted September 5, 2013 What a sweet little face! I can't wait to see him completely finished!
Poofiemus Posted September 5, 2013 He's looking great! I wouldn't have considered the 01 a boy before, even an MDD, but it totally works. Marq, I can totally see the Peanuts-ness in him too! Let's team up, I bet we can talk Sister Kyoya into making him cosplay one of the characters. Not Charlie Brown, Ralph is too confident to be him, but Linus, Schroder, Pigpen, 5. . . Wait, yes. Linus, so Rainie can be Lucy! In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.

SisterKyoya Posted September 5, 2013 It's really interesting mentioning that he looks like one of the Peanuts boys, it could have been the very thing in the back of my mind that made me realize the 01 would work for a boy. When I was swapping bodies at Christmas and Rainie's unpainted but blushed head went on Tama's body and had Rainie's elf hat on, everything just clicked. It's a good thing too because the head was extra anyway because Anouc didn't want a pre-blushed head to paint on (I don't blame her) and there is a stain from Rainie's original mouth that can still be seen, but now it looks like it's just part of Ralph's mouth. I find the Peanuts connection really funny because when Raven and I were dating my mom called him Chuck (and another time Cliff), neither of which are his name. But my favorite Peanuts character is Peppermint Patty and she calls Charlie Brown, Chuck. Occasionally when I get sick and lose my voice, Raven thinks it's the funniest thing because he says I sound like Peppermint Patty. Once I got so annoyed at him for giggling whenever I was trying to talk with him that I said "Watch it Chuck!" (Patty said it at some point) and he just bust up laughing. In some ways it's really embarrassing how much he and I are like those characters... I'm sure Ralph would get a total kick out of being Charlie Brown for Halloween, and it requires no hair! Me: "Are you sure your middle name is Alfie?" Ralph: "Yah, totally. Isn't it RAD?" *starts cracking up* Me: "You do realize that Your sisters will be calling you Ralphie Alfie..." Ralph: "Sure. That way I can always spot the aliens." Me: "How so?" Ralph: "You see, aliens don't know my language so they wouldn't know that my name isn't Ralphie Ralphie, or Alfie Alfie. If they ever did get into an argument over it I would have time to excape and get my metal hat. Can't have them reading my brainwaves and all. It would upset the balance of the universe. There are mysteries in there that are unknown even to man." Me: "I can believe that..." And this is one of those moments when I wish I had a fisheye lens to make this shot totally hilarious. I think he could pull off Charlie Brown pretty well. So cute, but SUCH a weirdo! And don't worry, being called weird is a high compliment to him. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Marq V Posted September 6, 2013 Marq, I can totally see the Peanuts-ness in him too! Will do If Sister Kyoya is too busy (or unwilling *ha, ha*) perhaps we can start our own versions with the gang here in Arizona. Just one problem on my end, though: I don't know how to do faceups Galfriends at home: DD: Yoko, Yui, & Briana Rei Resin: Tatiana, Leda, Miyoi, Tana,... & Gena<
SisterKyoya Posted September 6, 2013 I'm definitely not unwilling but I've got plenty of projects and now with Ralph finished (except some hair) I'm short another body. So that makes me 5 bodies short and I'll need another in January. I think most people would be stunned (and maybe horrified ) at how big my list is of custom DD/Obitsu/BJD I want to make at some point. And the guys from FREE! aren't even on there yet. I'd really love to see your MDD Peanuts if you do make them. Modding the 01 head is really easy to do (I've done it 3 times now) and I find it to be an easy one to learn faceups on if it is something you want to learn. Personally I love doing the blushing so much that it makes it worth the work of doing the painting. Water color pencils make it SO much easier, although I'd recommend getting a brand that actually has a brown or darker tan color... I don't know if mine was supposed to and I just got a stupid box. I had two blacks and the closest I had to brown was pumpkin orange. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

SisterKyoya Posted September 8, 2013 Thank you! It has been a lot of fun with that smirky face being around already. Although he did seem to think that my lunch yesterday was for him. He may be weird but he's (unfortunately) realizing really quickly that if he can make me laugh that he turns into an instant charmer. How can you not giggle at that face??? ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
