Before pre-ordering my precious Seraphina (Saber/EXTRA) there had been another girl that had stolen my heart at first sight. It was the year that the lottery for Saber Lily was going on at Volks USA. Now at this time I still had no real knowledge of Dollfie Dreams. I'd seen pictures of them via Danny Choo's site and knew that they were really expensive... and that was about it But boy oh boy did I fall hard for Lily when I happened to stumble upon pictures of her weeks before her lottery would come to an end. For weeks I tried very very hard to convince my husband to let me try & purchase her. Every minute I would be like "Isn't she beautiful?" or "Her outfit is so detailed and lovely!" and other such comments in hopes that it would somehow change his mind. But in the end he convinced me that she was just too expensive and that was that~

Once I'd pre-ordered Saber/EXTRA I had come to this forum & lurked for quite a long time and read every single bit of information about DDs so I wouldn't have any surprises when my first DD arrived to me (which ended up being Momoko instead of Seraphina haha). One of the things I saw was a thread called "Who is your Unicorn?". At first I hadn't really understood the term until I read a post on Ultimaknight's blog about his Saber Unicorn. After reading that I of course realized that Saber Lily was indeed that one true Unicorn since she really had been the one who got away & would be impossible to get. Impossible because once I'd soaked in all that DD Knowledge I now knew that once a DD had been sold that her second-hand market price would be quite high and this very much applied to Saber Lily whose price was more than double her retail. Being that this is quite an expensive hobby I knew I would have to draw the line on things and this was one of those things. For myself if I can't get a girl from Lottery/Pre-Order then I won't be getting her because second-hand prices are too much especially nowadays. If I can get a good deal on a older released girl then of course I would go for it, but I had no expectations for that about Saber Lily and basically put it out of my mind. If I couldn't get her then I shouldn't think about her which is why I never ended up posting in that thread about who your Unicorn is~

Obviously at this point of the story you must be wondering what in the world changed because well WHOA there are pictures of Saber Lily on my flickr and the word "Arrival" in her photo set I did mention I would only get a past girl if I could get a good deal right? So I have a local friend who purchased Saber Lily from Volks USA, but had never opened her. During a couple of talks she mentioned how she sometimes thought about selling her, but it was just a thought not a for sure thing. I of course told her that if she ever did sell her to come to me first because of my love for Saber Lily That thought was now a reality and she told me that if I still wanted to buy Lily we could talk about it We hung out this past Saturday and talked over the details. My friend is a kind soul and sold me Saber Lily's Fullset + Avalon for her retail price. She had no interest in making a profit, she just wanted Lily to go to a good home (my home ). I sent her the money via PayPal & ended up taking Lily home that night with me. I always stay up late, but I stayed up even later playing with my Unicorn I really hope that one day I can return the favor and help her find her dream DD girl (her true Unicorn) for a reasonable price, but it might be a bit hard considering that girl is Kusugawa Sasara. But I'll keep my eyes peeled for a deal and if the rest of you could help me that would be great too

I still really can't believe she is all mine~ I look over at her with my other girls and am still doing a double take at her presence. Good things come to those who wait right? Now I love the name Lily, but most people keep her name that and I wanted to set her apart some while still keeping her original name. Thus my lovely girl is named Yuri. It still means "Lily", but it also means "Girl's Love" (I love double meanings!).

And now all has been explained! Billy really wanted me to get this up because he wanted to know just how in the world this happened haha. Yuri is my 5th girl and at this point things with my DD family feel just right. My DD Family exploded from just 2 girls to 5 girls in three months. With so much change I think it's time to relax and enjoy all the treasures I have at home with me Thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoyed the pictures of my new girl!

Congratulations! She's drop-dead gorgeous, and I know that awesomely giddy feeling you get when you finally catch your unicorn. I'm curious to see how Seraphina reacts to her--especially if she turns up in her full gear.

Thanks! And oh dear that would be quite the battle right? The running joke in the house is how Seraphina can't hold her own sword up (I've tried before and it would just droop down slowly). Hubby David said Yuri should say something like "Look! You can't even hold your own sword up... I suspect it's due to too many sweets~"

As you mentioned, I *was* really wondering what the heck was going here with all these adoptions and photos on Flickr. Zipping from two girls to five girls that fast reminds me of.... me! Isn't it crazy how quickly a DD family can grow even if you're not planning on it? NOW you see why I freak out so often.

 

I'm so happy you could finally get your grail girl! I knew you really liked her but I didn't know all the details like you listed above. That's really awesome how your friend took such good care of you in order to help you get your Unicorn. Hearing things like this is what really makes me stand back and go "Damn, I love this hobby!" People helping each other out on such important things is just wonderful to hear about.

 

And Lily looks so pretty in your photos! I love her outfit, it's super cute on her! And I really love the fact she's wearing stockings and garters with it..... she must be getting fashion tips from Momoko.

Well if it makes you feel better it totally wasn't just you who was wondering what was going on! So many comments were just like WHAAT?! Hehe it was actually pretty funny And the whole time I kept getting all these girls I really did think of you and how you felt every time a new girl showed up on your doorstep! Mmmm maybe we shouldn't pressure you to get a White Skinned 06 girl now haha

 

I didn't really talk about it much. I was sure people knew I loved Lily, but like you said no one knew the details till I typed all of them out now. It was just one of those things I was sure would never ever happen for me so I didn't talk about it. Well life sure threw me a curve ball right?! And Yuri will always be extra special not just because she's my Unicorn, but because I got her from a really good friend who told me that she could see me owning her and taking good care of her. It really was just out of nowhere when she told me that all she wanted was her retail price as I was sure she would want maybe a little bit more. I love when people help other people out when they can and now I have one of those special stories to tell

 

And thanks! These photos came out really well Lucky for Yuri I had just gotten new tops from Chun and they all fit very nicely on an M-Bust hehe. And yes the garters are so sexy! Perhaps she did get some advice before going out that day~

Hehe don't worry you weren't the only one in the dark about my love of Lily Since she was so much $$$ I was never trying to go after her, but thankfully my friend made my secret dream come true! I was really impressed that her pictures came out so well~ And I don't have too many tops for an M-Bust, but lucky for Yuri I had just gotten some tops from Chun that fit the M-Bust very well The denim skirt is by mailittlealien (really want more of her DD clothing) and it was actually the first thing that Seraphina wore when I first go her as well hehe.

 

You're making me blush DA It makes me happy to give her a loving home with lots of other DD girls to interact with. As for how Seraphina feels about it all... well... ^^;;; Having so many new girls appearing one after the other has left her a bit agitated especially since she knows that she has to share even more of her things (aka her precious clothes & Momoko ). Not to mention with Melon having no body that she & Momoko have to take turns letting Melon out to play~ So for now Phina-chan remains jealous & plotting things that she'll probably never do anyways She'll get used to it!

 

And yes definitely the time to get to know all of the girls separately & together. Plus the hubby would have a fit if I added anymore girls since Yuri was quite a big purchase even at retail price. But even though he jokingly complains he always says how pretty Yuri is My friend is really hoping for a Sasara Re-release and if that happens I told her I would definitely enter as a back-up for her It's just so hard to find a reasonably priced Sasara these days. It'd be like looking for a needle in a haystack for someone selling her for what they originally bought her for So lets keep those fingers crossed for a re-release~

Aww thanks so much Anouc! That's actually my favorite one as well. The wind blowing in that moment just made it such a perfect shot. It was definitely a sunny afternoon journey with the heat we are having here right now!
