Marq V Posted September 5, 2013 Yes, that is Mr. Eraser that people mention. You will also see non-Mr. Clean brands available. I have not tried those near my dolls' faceup yet, just around the head. Two things that can help prevent oils from your hands transferring onto your DD are: 1) Wash your hands before handling your DD and periodically while holding your doll depending upon how easily your hands sweat or get dirty. Some peoples' hands are more acidic than others. 2) Wear cotton gloves. I purchase mine at pharmacies. Still, I have seen brand new Dollfies that have never been touched and still have yellowing on them, most likely due to sunlight or other light sources getting into the box. I hope that is of some help Galfriends at home: DD: Yoko, Yui, & Briana Rei Resin: Tatiana, Leda, Miyoi, Tana,... & Gena<

I believe Volks does not seal their faceups, so for myself I would not do it because I do not have the skill yet to fix a faceup. baldylox Posted September 5, 2013 Yep, having anything on your hands while handling your DD can either leave dirt, stains or surface oils on the body. The best way to help with this is to ALWAYS wash your hands before handling your girl. If you can't do that, at least try and wipe your hands off on a towel or rag or paper towel to keep as much dirt and stuff off her as possible. That photo is the magic eraser people talk about and use. All you have to do to use it is to get it damp and then wipe over the vinyl with it. It's an awesome tool for cleaning your girls and I recommend every DD owner own a box of them. As for cleaning faceups, I do NOT recommend wiping the faceup with a magic eraser. SOMETIMES default Volks faceups won't have any issues with doing a very, very light wipe or two with one of the erasers but I'd still not do it unless nothing else has worked. I always use either a damp sponge to get surface dirt off or a very soft, wet cloth. 9 times out of 10 those work for getting a girls face clean and normally will have no effects on the paint. Some people do use the erasers to clean faces but I'm not doing it with my girls due to fear of messing them up. Hopefully this helps you out. Billy EDIT: Ha ha! I was too slow! But I'm not deleting all my stuff, I worked too hard on it! LOL I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
chinti Posted September 5, 2013 haha, thanks you for explaining it to me. my DD got a faceup done by anouc so i think she have a proper seal but still i dun think i will risk it, will just clean the body once a month and around the head where there isnt any faceup. Anouc Posted September 7, 2013 Doooooont clean the faceup with it! Thats a technique to remove faceups ... Even if selfmade faceups are sealed i think it wouldnt work very often without destroying anything. So please protect more than to remove ... I think its not needable to touch a faceup, you can remove caps with holding her NOT on the faceup itself. And even if you touch the faceups sooooometimes, it wont be destroid after some times ... https://www.facebook.com/fantasydolls?ref=hl ☆〜(ゝ。∂) ♥ Dollfie Dream Faceups ~ ☆
