Alternative doll carrier bag?

Recommended Posts

Aile

Seeing as I probably will be visiting my relatives from time to time in a different province and/or displaying figs/dolls at figure booths at cons I needed a sure way of carrying my girls with me.

I initially wanted to get a volks bag, but kind of hesitated since there might be cheaper , possibly better alternatives. What do you guys do in this case?

Preferably I'd want something that's big enough to carry three dolls at most, but one that's good for two is good enough too C: and small suitcases probably don't count here lol

Yoga bags or tripod bags work.

When I'm traveling abroad and don't want to bring my big Volks carrier, I bend my doll into a sitting position ("L-shape"), put her inside a white pillowcase and sit her at the bottom of the bag. If I know I'm going to put other miscellaneous stuff into the bag (like a water bottle, camera, etc) I will put a plastic face guard on her too. They are inexpensive and prevent any accidental damage to the head/ faceup.

You could also use the pillowcase & bubblewrap method and bend her at the knees to fit her into a regular backpack.

DD's are very resilient and much easier to travel with than a resin doll They are light and durable!

Yes, a yoga mat bag is perfect. I was lucky and found one at a Thrift store (Goodwill). It holds both of my DDs. I just wrap them in a thick towel for padding. Now when I go to thrift stores I always look for another yoga mat bag and potted plant chairs (perfect size chairs for DD).
