It's from Witch on the Holy Night, the visual novel Alice is from. I've never played it and have no idea why she's dressed as a penguin though...

 

Volks doesn't strike me as a company who would do something as hugely divisive as that. So I would expect you'll be waiting a long time.

It's mostly I just want one that says "Volks" on it, and that is fit for their dolls (Especially a DDdy, SD17, or SDGrB). There are a few companies that have made several different variations of SS-like uniforms. (Some look more like Allgemeine SS uniforms, or the gray service uniforms.) I think Heisejinyao has one outfit very much inspired from a Allegeine SS uniform, but I'm still holding out for something a bit more reminiscent of the original design.

 

I'm just picky and there aren't a lot of seamstresses who are willing to put in the time and effort on a uniform like that, especially ones who have a DDdy body and their measurements. Nothing worse than a uniform that isn't made to fit. ><;;

 

Again I state, this was a silly wish and thus why I only said it because of the fact that in my head 55 makes me think of SS. :P Nothing I ever expect Volks to do, just a small wish that I'd like to see happen.

SS could also stand for "Smert' Szpionom" (Death to Spies) from Ian Flemming's James Bond. The Soviet counterintelligence agency. An Octopussy Dollfie would not be a bad idea.

It's not actually curious. *Warning this is based on what I remember and I don't have access to my books atm* There was a strong tradition in military uniform design from the 1800s where there was an emphasis of an attractive design and, iirc, Hugo Boss also had the manufacturing capacity to fulfill the uniform orders. After WWI though there was a trend towards functional over fashionable, so in comparison the German uniforms "looked better". By the time you get to Korea and later though the appearance is nearly entirely based on function.

Maybe I'm a weird one, but I'd never want to put something on my doll that had such strong negative connotations, no matter how aesthetically pleasing it was, so I'm really happy that Volks is a company tends to avoid more controversial topics. More cute and floofy stuff for the girls, whee! I'm trying to decide if I want to get any of the cute winter sets.

 

I can't wait for more news about the Touhou event. I wonder what the new Touhou items will be? I suspect it won't be dolls (other than sales of the already released girls), but maybe alternate outfits or accessories... I really don't know enough about the Touhou world to make a good guess about what the items might be, but I'm so curious!!!

It's still curious. Hugo Boss (the founder of the Hugo Boss company) being a Nazi party member happily fulfilled these orders using prisoner labour. Now the Soviets, Japanese and KR also had prisoner labour yet their outfits are unappealing in comparison.

 

I'm not so sure if the German uniforms of WW2 were any more functional than the rest. The helmets were a better design though, and 1939 Red Army used a similar helmet too, that's why US armed forces use a modified Nazi/German helmet now. Anyway this is going O/T.

I feel the exact same way. Too much stigma involved for me, I prefer to dress my girls in girly or (sometimes) sexy fashions. There would probably be a lot of upset customers if Volks produced SS uniforms or even something vaguely similar.

Oh that's not too bad at all...though I know nothing about who made it so I'm unsure of the quality...><;; (That and I don't have a DD for it right now, I just like to fantasize.)

I'm trying to fix this off-topic-ness I got going. I'd like to see more info about this whole Touhou thing, mostly cause I just want to think that whenever I can come back to buying dolls I'd have a slightly easier chance at getting my time wielder again...o3o That and I just like seeing her.

Volks is finally releasing semi-white heads! And 05, 07 heads as well! And DDIII base bodies to be sold individually! Pity that they are only going to release the base bodies in normal colour, if we want to get semi-white bodies to match those new heads we need to either build them from scratch / purchase them from the 2nd hand market / organize a split (wallet says "ouch!").

Will the heads be available for sale on their web store or just at the event? Would love to grab a blank 07 head.

I assume the heads are going to be available on the webstore. I think they will become regular items, and just their first release is the DD Gathering.

Yes they would be available in stores (physical and online stores). They would be sold first during the DD Gathering on 19 Oct 2013.

 

I'm guessing they would be sold out very quickly on 19 Oct, then slowly Volks will get them restocked. When DDH-06 was first sold as a standard item in stores she was always sold out!

I know MDD are a niche market within a niche market, but I wish Volks would give the same skin tones options the bigger girls get.

Since I joined the DD hobby Volks has not released any MDDs, are they so unpopular/low in demand?

They have yet to release an MDD WS as a standard, despite the fact that there was at least one limited girl who was one!
