Akira & Saber & Standard Volks Blonde Wig comparison

Mariko in Semiwhite looks really good in Akira's blonde wig - the only problem.. is that it leaves Akira being bald (well, with a lighter blonde backup wig ;D).

 

I was curious if anyone out there had Akira's wig to compare with either a normal volks blonde color or even Saber's wigs, as I'd like to ask people who own the other wigs how close they are in color (as photos can be super deceiving).

 

I figured this is more of a newbie question?? I only have that one blonde akira wig to compare...XD

Ah, I can answer that, but I'm going to bed now. I'll put up a picture in the morning.

 

ETA: Ok, here's the pic. It has Saber Extra's wig and also Mitsuki's. (Sorry she's just a head, her body is being cleaned atm.)

 

 

Akira's wig is more yellow than the others. Mitsuki's is a Volks in the color 'Pale Ivory'. It looks the same as Saber's in this pic, but in reality Saber's is slightly more yellow. All three are a different color.

Hmm, do you think Akira's wig would be closest to the biscuit gold color?

Maybe. I can't say for sure though since I haven't seen biscuit gold in person.

Akira's wig is a lot more shiny/metallic and has a different warmth to it. It also seems to have less tonal variation. Biscuit Gold seems like a blend of a couple different colored fibers.

With her eyes/skin/blushing the akira color blond just works so well (and who doesn't like kitty ears XD).

 

I've been looking at the soft orange color from Miruya - as it might be a little similar but obviously with a little bit of color dimension that the Akira wig doesn't have.

I don't have Akira's wig anymore but this is something I cooked up this morning for everyone. I hope this will come in handy in this thread and in the future.

I wonder - to help make them even better for comparison, maybe include a white, semiwhite and normal arm (or other easily removable body part) in the middle, or nearby each color so people can get a sense of what the wig colors look in relationship to the DD colors. Many a time I've bought a wig b/c it's so beautiful but it doesn't match well with the DD skintone.

 

and would it be safe to say that Miki's wig is pretty close to Akira's color? Akira's wig color seems like it was just made for semiwhite mariko b/c it looks so good on her. /swoon.

Oh yes, perhaps body parts would be good for color comparison.

Since I don't have Akira's wig anymore, I don't want to make assumptions but from what I can remember... they are quite similar.
