Obitsu 55 boy

Recommended Posts

Janeway

I have been trying to do some research on the obitus 55cm boy and l though l could ask here if that's ok with the mods.

I plan on getting one in the next month or so and l have been trying to look for clothes for him and need to know what would fit him. Would normal SD clothes fit him also l have been looking at the volks SD13 size as well.

I do know that he well fit MSD shoes.

I too am looking into getting this same body type, or getting a 60cm female body and sticking the 55cm torso on it. So I hope someone can answer your questions, because I'm curious as well! Best of luck. <:

Mods you can remove this thread due to l am scraping the idea to a obitsu 45cm boy later on down the road.

I don't see the reason to scrap the thread. I have been wondering about this info myself and have one (maybe two) DD boys that I've considered using this body for. I really wish that Parabox had more/better info on how to go about putting the 55cm boys together more than "Oh look, you can!" I'd love to share the info when I have it, but all I know is it might be before the end of the year. I'd be happy if anyone had some info before then to share, but I'm not expecting it. If the body swap is like putting the Obitsu 45cm boy bust on an MDD body, it should be easy. One of the things I can't figure out is what exactly it will look like with and without clothes. When dolls are bought for visual reasons, it's kinda important.

Sister Kyoya if the mods don't mind having two post then this one can stay as well (meaning the obitsu 55 and 45 post). There should be more infor on the two (obitsu 55 and 45 boys) but there is not much out there that l can tell.

The Obitsu 45cm is very different from the 55cm, for one the 45 can be bough completed...

Trying to use the Parabox forums to get info on the 55cm male mod is just a joke. I've searched through there a couple of times looking for more info, user pics, instructions, something and end up getting more aggravated than anything.

Ok, I'm a dork. I was thinking of the 60cm male body that needs to be assembled, not the 55cm. However I'd still like the 55cm body for Lucas that I'm working on. The body is the last major piece I need for him even though there is more work left. And what happened to the Macho bust that used to be available?

I was wondering about that. Will Lucas be a 55 or a hybrid 55 chest on the 60cm?

And what happened to the Macho bust that used to be available?

The Macho chest for the 55cm was discontinued some time ago, which is too bad. It was much nicer on the 55 than the stock chest.

As far as clothes for the 55cm male go, my 55 guys are probably the most neglected (wardrobe-wise) of all my dolls. I've bought most of their clothes from Parabox, as they make stuff specifically for the 55. After that it's been hunt and peck, lots of baggy shirts, and a wide assortment of sizes and sources.

My #1 guy, Kaji (as seen in these episodes) has a somewhat limited wardrobe.

http://www.dolliehsanctuary.com/sanctuary/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7709

The fitted pants were from Parabox

The trench coat was a smallish SD size found on ebay (went by the chest measurement).

The shoes are also from ebay and are waaaaay too big and stuffed with socks.

The sweater is better seen here:

http://www.dolliehsanctuary.com/sanctuary/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8797

The black sweater is an SD size (it's baggy and long, but not bad).

The pants are another Parabox item.

http://www.dolliehsanctuary.com/sanctuary/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8734

The flight jacket is the SD size flight jacket fron Volks.

The gray shirt and pants are from Parabox.

He's also got a suit (found on Yahoo Japan Auctions) that he hasn't had to wear. It's an SD size that will require some alteration to make it fit (tuck at the waist, trim the pant and jacket cuffs, trim a bit out of the back of the jacket...).

Having specific visions of what he needs to wear and limited sewing skills makes outfitting him a challenge. Luckily I have a friend with an Elna and a Singer...

I really wanted him to be the 55 with the macho chest, but then it up and disappeared on me. The standard chest of the 55 just looks really blah in comparison.

Ha! Ok, it's nice to know I'm not crazy. I was starting to think I made up the macho chest from wishful thinking, but I have the pics from Parabox before they removed them, and a screenshot of it in my shopping cart when I was trying to figure out how much it would cost for Lucas' body.

13311970303_ca51335de0_z.jpg

I cut the pictures in half so I didn't have to post NSFW links... THIS is the body I've been thinking about for Lucas for over the last year, not the 'milksop' option that they have now. *so very frustrated* He's supposed to have the whole tough guy image, so THIS chest just isn't the same. Ug! Now comes the problem of hunting down the macho chest. *totally lost*

It says that the 60cm chest is only for the 60cm bodies... but the only pic references they give on the site is where the chest is on the body type they inadvertently say not to use (because it doesn't fit the body well & it looks horrible!) So I just assumed that there would be gaping issues or something else similar with trying to put the 60 chest on a 55. Besides, the chest isn't sculpted the same.

(Linking to K-2's post on DOA w/ pics) You can add the 55cm male chest, torso & arms to the 60cm (ball joint?) body that makes a male body about the same height as the 65cm male with a neck mod. I'm curious to what this would look like with the 60cm male chest, but even as it is, it looks like that would be my most likely body for Kiyoteru. On the Parabox forums someone said to just take the 55 body and add the ball joint legs to it for the 60 male. Trying to keep all this info sorted out is making my head spin.

Then there is also this info from Parabox: "The upper trunk, lower trunk, arms, and legs can be used for the Obitsu 60cm and 47cm bodies, also." So that means I could make Ralph into a 47cm boy, Eddie into a 45cm, Lucas 55, & Kiyoteru 55/60 hybrid. And I've wondered if the 45 male bust would work on the 40cm body...

My life would be so much easier if Tamayuki didn't continually insist that he is short, so he has to be the littlest boy in our house. So that usually means all the other boys are sized to him, and why it has been so hard for me to figure out the 55, 60, 65 body problem for Lucas, and more indirectly for Kiyoteru, who also ideally has to be taller than Naiomi (DDS) who's favorite boots are high heels...

Sorry if some of this is a little repetitive, K-2! posted before I was done fact checking.

I completely agree. Since the Macho Chest was a Parabox Original I don't think they made that many of them, and that whole replacement chest part thing made it kind of pricy.

Ha! Ok, it's nice to know I'm not crazy.

Not about the chest part anyway (joke).

Ug! Now comes the problem of hunting down the macho chest. *totally lost*

Good luck with that. I've never seen one for sale (except at Parabox). You might try posting a Wanted To Buy ad on the DoA marketplace and the Parabox forum. If I ever see one I'll let you know.

It says that the 60cm chest is only for the 60cm bodies... You can add the 55cm male chest, torso & arms to the 60cm (ball joint?) body that makes a male body about the same height as the 65cm male with a neck mod.

They say a number of things over there. General speaking, the old 47cm, the 55cm, and the 60cm bodies/parts are all physically compatible. They use the same neck/torso/abdomen parts and if you use the matching internal and external parts on the arms and/or legs, you can put any of those legs and arms on any of those torso/abdomens. Whether you think they are aesthetically compatible is up to your individual taste. 60cm ball joint legs will fit on the 55cm body but I think they look too long, but that's just me.

The 40cm through 50cm bodies (which includes the new 47cm) are based on the same internal architecture so most of those parts are physically compatible. And provided use use the matching internal and external parts for the arms and legs, you can put 50cm legs on the 40cm body, etc.

I had a similar issue with my girls when I started, which was back several years before the introduction of the first 50cm body. Back then there were only three choices: 60cm, 55cm, and 47cm (and the 47cm looked "thick" compared to the other two sizes). Now, 6+ years later I've gravitated to an average doll height of 50cm with taller girls (and guys) being 55s, 60s and 65s and shorter girls are 48cms and under.

I'm hoping it's ok to post here regarding the 60cm male?

I've been looking into the obitsu bodies and I'm hoping I'm right in guessing that the 55cm chest and torso piece can be interchanged onto the female 60 cm body?

On parabox, there is a 60cm Male body, but the female body I'm looking at has the Body ball joint set

"It has slender waist, arms, and legs. All skin except for the abdomen is a hard vinyl. The abdomen is made of soft vinyl. Two-part doll. Using Slide structure that Obitsu has developed, elbows and knees bend more deeply than other models and have a more natural look."

also, it might be interesting to note, that there is 2 versions/listings for parabox!

The .jp site has more than the .jp/eng o.O, I'm sure I saw the Macho chest K-2 and Sisterkyoya were mentioning ... ^v^

OMG! THANK YOU! I left a message on the Parabox forums asking if it was possible for me to buy one. I really, really hope so. *Keeping my fingers crossed* They also have the full 55cm body with that chest as well... I really fail to understand why Japanese online stores continue to do things like this. If it is available to Japan, why not everywhere else? It's not like they aren't shipping bodies already.

you're most welcome and good luck!

I also believe in universal stock, in this day and age it's much more beneficial for both parties to ship everywhere from anywhere ^-^

And if anyone is interested, parabox replied to my email enquiry, the 55cm torso and chest piece can be alternated to the female body.

The arms and legs too maybe? But I'll start with just the torso, when I have the money

Thanks! I also realized that if it isn't possible for me to buy it directly from them, I've used someone here on the forums as a proxy before so that option could be open too. Now that I know it is available again, I've got money burning a hole in my pocket. The rest of the body is still easily available so that's no big deal, but that bust piece... urg.

O.M.G. I can't believe that I just ordered Lucas' bust! *screams her head off* The listing was re-posted on the English Parabox site after my inquiry on the forums. I had to seriously talk myself out of buying an Obitsu head for a full Obitsu guy I want to do (Rainie's arch nemesis), so instead I grabbed the 60cm male bust to try it out with Kiyoteru. I'm so excited I can hardly sit still!

I am seriously in shock. After I thought that I'd never find the bust piece once it disappeared from the site and I'd have to majorly rethink Lucas, then suddenly everything turned out better than expected because now I have one more piece for Kiyoteru, even after he got his eyes this week. (He got Momo's default after Sohi (my husband's Momo) got her proper eyes from Cool Cats last week.)

Oni-Chan, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting me know that it was on the JP site. I never would have thought to look there.

My boys are finally coming together!!!

So I have a question and I'd like opinions on it ^-^

My plan is to buy a 60cm female body, and I can swap the torso and chest piece out and put the 55cm male chest and torso piece on it to make a 60cm male.

now, if I buy a 55cm male doll, I should be able to then put the 60cm female torso and chest piece on the 55cm frame right?

To clear things up a little, I need a 60cm male and a girl body for a floating head, so if I buy a 60cm female and a 55cm male and just swap the torso and chest piece there's no floating Body pieces ^-^

I don't have an obitsu yet but I'm almost certain that the difference in height is mostly in the legs right?

Thanks!

Yes. There is a sliding part in the middle piece of the 55/60cm spine parts (adjustable by loosening and tightening a screw) but you shouldn' t have to do anything with that. It's pretty much a "pop off the limbs and swap the torso vinyl" procedure.

While you're doing that, I'd suggest trimming the vinyl a bit around the "leg holes" in the abdomen part. Little bits of the edge of the vinyl can get pulled onto the hip joint during reassembly. This can cause the joint parts to not fit together properly, legs can remain loose, and breakage of the pelvis part (60RP-F01WP-27).

Thank you so much K-2!!!

Would you suggest using just a small hobby scalpel to trim the leg holes?

Once I get the bodies I'll be able to work it out ^-^

Yes, any small hobby knife like an xacto (#11 blades) will do the job. A new blade will cut through the vinyl like budda! And you don't have to worry too much about making a super clean cut as the hole for the hip/leg joint is hidden by the ball of the joint part.

Hey guys obitsu has a new obitsu 50cm boy that's out but there is no price tag yet. What do you guys think? Now l know l want this.

Been doing some research on this and l am going to build my own due to l have most of the obitsu 50cm girls part at home. All parts of this boy is the obitsu 50cm girl parts (legs and arms) so its not going to be that hard to build.

Now just to make my mind up on what head to use. I was thinking the old gretel head. This is going to be Finn.

I picked up my 55cm male today!!

Due to the sizes I wanted to achieve, I decided on a 55cm male to go with my 50cm female. I dressed him up, but haven't played with him yet. I'll be sure to post pics soon!

But so far I am loving him! Can wait for his proper head to arrive
