Amara77 Posted September 27, 2013 I have zero experience with cameras, I have always used the point and shoot variety. I don't know how to mess with the settings well yet either, so I'm looking for suggestions for a quality newb friendly camera. Something that is easy to use based on reading directions. I'm hoping for something in the 300 range. I'm ready and willing to use the settings, but I don't want something overwhelming any help is greatly appreciated! http://amara77.wordpress.com blog and shop Spoke too soon.... Anna-neko Posted September 27, 2013 Canon PowerShot G11 was perfection for this.... but thats a few years old now (still a good camera tho!) Its still technically a point-and-shoot, but a lil bit bigger and has all sorts of lil options you can mess around with while learning what they do plus a hot-shoe on top, so if you're feeling up to a new challenge of buying a speedlight flash to attach up there for more learn/experimenting options

Nekopon Posted September 28, 2013 I seriously loved my last camera. It was great and easy to use! There's a lot of options but it can easily be a point and shoot as well! Please take a look: http://compare.ebay.com/like/290826300455?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar I only had the kit lens for this camera but here are some photos I did with it with little editing: Mio by Miss Nekopon, on Flickr Stylish Saber by Miss Nekopon, on Flickr White Melty by Miss Nekopon, on Flickr Yuki Blossom by Miss Nekopon, on Flickr

ArthuriaPen Posted October 1, 2013 I use Olympus SP 810 uz. You can tweak some of its settings like iso and white balance. But aperture can't be adjusted. Those are what I play with when doing toy photography. :
Anna-neko Posted October 4, 2013 Thanks I will also look into that one also. I also have no editing software which I need. What do you use? Most cameras that allow you to shoot RAW format will come with some kind of basic software to use A lot of people default to Photoshop for minor tweaks, just because we're so used to the program... Tge best and easiest out there, to me :3 I also recommend Lightroom for photos. It's also relatively cheap for everything that it can do. I also have to recommend Lightroom as it's not just for editing the photos, it also helps with organization and filing. 21 DD girls: Mio, Marina, Yui, Yoko, Nia, Lily, Arisu, Akina, Momo, Arisa, Yukina, Ayaka, Niimi, Eri, Millefeuille, Ekisu, Chitose, Miyabi, KOS-MOS v.4, Hatsune Miku and God Eater Alisa. 2B in a hopeful future.
