A Handmade Gift for Naiomi

 

Naiomi: "Hello everyone. I wanted to send a very special thank you to Maarit for this very beautiful sweater. Mama was very excited to enter the giveaway that Maarit was holding on her blog. A few days later we found out that Mama won, much to her surprise because she almost never wins anything."

 

 

Naiomi: "I love this sweater so much I just want to hug all the softness out of it. Mama was really happy when Maarit's package arrived the day before her birthday. There was an adorable birthday card and a couple of other surprises that Mama was so excited to see. Maarit, Mama wanted me to tell you an extra special thank you for the headband base and the DIY eyes. The day before your package came she realized she needed one of those headbands for a Halloween costume, and the eyes she can use for a very special guy. I asked her who that would be and she wouldn't tell me, but she was smiling a lot."

 

 

Naiomi: "I really love the sweater and it fits really well! Mama said that you do really beautiful work and she feels privileged to have been given such a lovely garment. Even though the pattern was intended for someone a bit bigger like Yuriko, I wanted to show off that it still suits me just fine!"

 

 

Naiomi: "Even the back is pretty. All the delicate little stitches are very soft."

 

 

Naiomi: "I will think of you every time I wear my sweater this winter. Papa likes to keep the house cold so it will get a lot of use." *wink* "Again, thank you very much!"

I started knitting Naiomi a sweater a few months ago... and have about an inch high's worth of knitting done. I've never knitted a sweater of any size before so I can heartily say I have no idea what I'm doing. That being said, I can definitely agree that I'm stunned with the quality of the sweater that Maarit made, all the stitches are really even and beautiful.

Thank you! I'm not too fond of model type poses because without anything to interact with I don't know what to do with their arms. Doesn't surprise me much because I'm the same way with my own arms. Just give the DD a single thing to interact with that isn't the camera and suddenly I have hardly any problems. The first pic in the set was bland as anything, but after that I just let Naiomi figure it out. I think she did a wonderful job.

I have to say that after the MDD, the DDS is my favorite DD body type. Even with the L Shapely bust Naiomi has curves in all the right places but she is still petite and adorable. I really love how the sweater tapers in at the waist to subtly maintains that same look.

Thank you! Since Tama-chan loves gray and snuggly things I'll have to make sure he doesn't wander off with the sweater when Naiomi's not using it. He's such a snuggle fiend!
