suggestions needed for a few customs

Hi

 

I would like to try to do some customs DD. So I need to choose heads and spare for the money

I am quite picky and so choosing heads is quite hard for me, that's why any help would be great.

I would prefer to use DD heads only, no SQlabs.

I am also looking for any accessories or clothes that can be great with the dolls.

 

Here are the characters I would like to turn into DD.

 

-Sakura from Card captors

head : DD01 modded ( got her! waiting for the face up)

body : MDDIII

wig: Rena's wig

clothes : ??

head : ??

body : DDS small bust

I thought perhaps DD SW Lucy or SW Mariko for Suh, and perhaps Melty for Zelda because she is the only one for now with elf ears.

I'd say Shu is WS!

For Zelda I suggest 07 head.

I'd suggest 07 for Zelda too, it looks perfect for her. For Suu...I'm not sure! There aren't a lot of DDs with neutral/sad/stoic expressions...Lucy and Alice do, but the eye shape is rather different. There are some other non-smilely girls, but I don't know as much about them/they aren't as available..

For Zelda I'd say Beatrice would be perfect because they both have very mature features, and I'm sure that one of the resin doll companies like Ringdoll or something do glue on elf ears

 

About Suh...hmmm maybe Sakuno with a re-face up? That or a WS DDH-03

 

Anyway, good luck with all three of them, I'm really looking forwards to seeing the end products, especially Zelda!!

I agree it is hard to find a head with a neutral expression and the good eye shape for Suh.

 

Can someone please link me to the resin ears? Does anyone know if there is other ways to make elf ears on a DD? I know Anouc did it in the past but I think she stopped that. I am perhaps wrong though.

I know it's not Elf ears and not resin, but it's close, I guess

I'll send you a PM when I find the resin ones, but I'm sure they were from Luts or Resin Soul or Soul doll or something.

 

I found a tutorial too from dolls n daggers, but it didn't seem to be much use since it was for smaller dolls but here it is anyway: http://www.dolls-n-daggers.com/Dolls/Forum/Tutorials/ElfEars.pdf

 

If I were to make them, I'd probably try making them from cardboard and lining it with a skin-coloured felt, probably attaching it with a headband too.

Little bump with another project for which I have no idea yet : I would like to make an Elsa from Frozen!

So any idea for her are welcome too. Perhaps Miku 's head when she will be available?

Though I am not sure I would choose a DD or a SD for her yet.

Heh, I've been pondering Elsa too! My initial thought was 05 in Semi-white--Elsa is pale, but not quite that ethereal alabaster tone of WS.

 

I also think Mai Shiranui with a different faceup could work, but it's a shame that she only comes in normal.

 

As it is, my Miku is pretty likely to cosplay her. She might make a decent permanent Elsa with a custom faceup.

Potentially, but Elsa's pretty far down the adoption list right now for me--Fate T. Harlaown and a custom Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who outrank her currently. Still, really hope I get to see your Elsa even if I don't get around to getting mine put together!
